Year Of The Dragon


Samantha the Seal tells Spyro about the submarine accident and how the ryhnocs failed to see the humor of the whole situation and decided to put all the seals in jail. Spyro of course, has to free them from jail. This is an underwater level all the way through and Spyro learns the finer "strokes" of swimming and headbutting.

Seashell Shore 1 This underwater level takes a little getting used to. Spyro does have great maneuverability. Using the square button gives you the turbo swim which breaks gem vases and head-butts the harpoon rhynocs. The biggest advantage is the ability to go anywhere out of harm's way when ryhnocs fire at you. Make sure to take out the propeller squid while standing still. Once he spins, Sparx loses health. Break the wooden doors and swim up the tunnel to the docks.

Seashell Shore 2 As Spyro walks across the docks, the rhynocs start throwing barrels down the walkway. Jump and flame is all you need to do. After running the barrel gauntlet, you finally reach the next blocked doorway. Head-butt your way through to the next chamber full of white seashells (disguised shovel rhynocs). Work your way through all the seashells and through the next open area with the barrel throwers. Sheila's house on the left is locked. We'll come back later. Dive into the pool.

Seashell Shore 3 Clean up all the gems and take care of all the rhynocs and spinning squids. Break down the last door to the underwater house. Stanley will open the exit portal and give you an egg. Go up the newly opened tunnel and grab the gems. Return to the large underwater cave by Stanley, and climb out the ceiling pool to the dry area for the 1st egg challenge. Smelt explains the naval battle between Bluto and his shark submarine versus Spyro and his cannon speed-boat. Sink the sub, get the egg.

Inside the naval battle with Bluto, you can avoid any direct hit from his torpedos, by racing around the perimeter of the lake, so he can't get a target lock on your boat. Spyro can fire at him several times while he is above water, and usually 5-6 really good shots, while he's getting ready, will do the trick. The floating wooden crates will reload the gun with 6 cannonballs on Spyro's boat. Use as many as you need.

Seashell Shore 4 Sandy The Seal tells the 2nd egg challenge supercharge swimming through the high speed fluidity tunnel. Make sure to avoid all the dynamite and bash all 10 rhynocs. This challenge took about 10 tries to get it right. Not easy at all. Once you've completed Sheila's Morphing level on this world you can come back and try the challenge by her house. Sally Seal explains to Spyro that all the turrets need to be destroyed before the dynamite goes off. Headbash all the turrets under 3:00.

SKILL POINT: Head-butting the funky swimming chicken in the tunnel under the house of the giant underwater cave. (repeat it several times to get the same point!!)

JASON = Underwater near the far end of the docks.
DIZZIE = At the end of the level after freeing the seals from jail.
MARK = Reward for defeating Bluto in the shark submarine challenge.
DUKE = Reward for clearing out the super-fluidity tunnel.
MOLLIE = As Sheila The Kangaroo, reward for destroying the sand castle turrets.
JARED = As Sheila The Kangaroo, superhop to the secret cave on the left.
