Nate and Sully are now on a nearby island deep in a tropical jungle. Walk down the stream toward the waterfall. Along the left side, look among the rocks [X], for a sparkle on the ground. Walk up and use [triangle] to pick-up the treasure. This one is 1/60 Silver Mosaic Inca Earring. Each treasure uncovered is saved in your [treasure menu] and can be viewed any time. Treasures are also worth reward points, the more you collect. Your first treasure = 5 reward points.

Walk along the the stream to the waterfall. The graphics and scenery are amazing. The light and shadows may throw you off looking for treasures that sprakle, so you have to explore every nook and cranny. Go right, from the waterfall and walk into the clearing. [cut scene] Sully's getting impatient and Nate thinks they're close according to the co-ordinates in the book. They tread on to the right and walk through a narrow rock cliff into a clearing. Walk into the ruins.

There are high walls around the perimeter and no path leading out. Along the far left wall, Nate can climb the rocks to the upper ledge. Use [X] to jump up the rock ledges and across the stone pillars. Sully yells up to Nate and thinks part of the ground sounds hollow? Work your way across the back of the ruins and run across the fallen pillar. To the left there's a sparkle on the pillar [X]. Jump across the pillars and behind the tree, grab treasure 2/60 Jeweled Silver Monkey. Jump back across to the far wall on the right.

As Nate walks across the last pillar, the stone slab beneath him starts to move. Hang on. Jump to the far platform. Drop over the edge and hang on to the stone ledge. Should you fall, just jump on the stone block on the ground and grab the ledge from below. Shimy around to the left. Jump the gap and grab the next section of ledge. When you hear a ledge start to crumble, quickly shimy to the left before it breaks off. Should you fall, run back to the block, pull up and start over.

Shimy around the wall ledges all the way to the left. Jump the gaps in the walls and pull-up on the back terrace. Walk along the upper terrace behind the boulder. Sully will yell up to you, asking if you're ok? Go behind the large boulder and use [triangle] to push it over the edge. The boulder crashes through the ground below, revealing a stairway under the ruins. Go to the right, safety-drop off the terrace to the ground below and walk down the stairs to the dark tunnel.

Walk down the tunnel. Sully will follow behind you. Don't worry about the bats (they're harmless). As you go deeper down the tunnel, Nate and Sully will automatically turn on their flashlights. Walk through the ruins into the large ceremonial chamber. [movie scene] Nate & Sully approach the back wall. It looks like the statue in the wall was pulled out and taken away. Sully is pissed that it's gone! Sully explains that he was really counting on finding this treasure.

Nate stumbles on an old Spanish helmet. He tells Sully, the Spanish were here and probably took the statue with them. They discover groove tracks in the ground. It looks like the statue was dragged away. Sully is still wining and complaining that he made some bad moves when he was younger and really needs to find this treasure to pay some debts. Nate understands. For now, let's see where the tracks lead.

Follow the tracks to the right. Follow the tunnel to the right, then to the left. Jump down to the lower walkway and enter the large cave with streaming sunlight. There's a huge deep pit beteen you and the other side. Use [L2] for hints when the icon comes up on the screen. Load your pistol [L1]. Shoot the explosive barrel on the other side [R1]. The large stone pillar topples over and makes a bridge. Don't walk over the bridge just yet. Walk to the left edge of the pit.

Around the back of the left stone column, you can see a sparkle. Carefully walk up and grab treasure 3/60 Decorated Gold Ring. Now jump up to the stone pillar and walk across the bridge to the upper platfrom. Sully will follow behind you. Approach the stone door. To the left is a pulley chain. Go to the pull chain and lift the door [triangle]. The door opens all the way but slams shut. Sully says he'll do it. Nate goes inside the room, finds a cart. Use [triangle] to push the cart back to keep the doorway open.

Inside the next room, another puzzle. Walk up to the metal sculpture in the middle. The [select] icon will appear in the lower right corner. Open Drake's book and read about the sculpture. Apparently, it's a giant ceremonial torch that can be lit. When gameplay returns, Sully gets his lighter out and lights the sculpture to life. The flames travel up and around the conduits and hanging baskets around the room.

The hallway to the next room is blocked with wooden scaffolding and debris. Load your pistol and aim at the overhead flame baskets. Shoot one of the flaming baskets to make it wobble. The sparks will fall to the ground, lighting the wood on fire. The fire clears the way to the next room. Walk down the passageway to the large circular room with the deep pit. The only way down is to climb across the blocks in the wall on the left. Jump from block to block.

As you jump from block to vlock, watch carefully for sliding crumble blocks. Quickly jump to the next block on the right before it falls out. Should you hang on too long, you'll fall to your death and will have to start over. Make your way around the back, then jump to the hanging vine. Slide down the vine to the bottom of the pit. Sully yells down and says the ladder is blocked. Look to the back of the room on the left and find 2 barrels. Shoot the explosive barrels.

The explosion clears the stone debris from the ladder. Sully climbs down the ladder to the bottom. Inside the next room, another flaming sculpture. Let Sully light the torches and illuminate the room. Walk out the other end and down the hallway. Approach the square chamber room at the end. Inside, another series of puzzles in the stone floor below. Consult Drake's notebook [select]. There are 4 symbols. Each symbol has a corresponding push block high up on a wall.

Each symbol has to be pushed in the right sequence. Drake's book tells you what order to push the blocks. Find the first symbol (square medallion), and find the square block on the wall that has that symbol. Jump up and climb the pillar ledges to the upper level. Jump across to the block and use [triangle] to push it into the wall. A cut scene shows a pillar rising up from the floor locking into place. Consult the book again and find the next block with the warrior symbol.

Jump and shimy across the pillars and back wall then push the next block. Consult the book again for the 3rd symbol (spider) and then the 4th symbol (ceremonial mask). Once all 4 blocks are pushed into place, the last pillar will rise from the floor, lock into place, and the floor starts the open up exposing a deep well. Jump back down to the floor and use the ladder in the well wall to climb down to the ledges below. DON'T DROP DOWN INTO THE WATER! You'll die!

Safety drop from the bottom of the ladder to the wall ledges. Shimy across to the left all the way around the well til you reach an opening in the wall. Climb up into the opening, into the room. Go to the back of the block in the middle of the floor. Use [triangle] and push the block in the grooves to the front of the room. A cutaway scene shows water pouring into the well from the room on the other side.. NOW you can go swimming. Drop down into the lagoon below.

Swim out of the lagoon and pull up into the dimly lit cave. There are wall legdes you can climb. Before going up, look to the right and walk to the dark area to the right [X]. Pick-up treasure 4/60 Silver Llama. Jump and climb up the rock ledges. Work your way up the cave and climb the vine to the top. Pull-up onto the stone floor. Walk around to the far side. Load your pistol, aim and shoot the explosive barrels. The stone door crumbles away and Sully walks through.

Walk out the next hallway and up the stairs to the large cathedral room with the streaming sunlight. Up ahead, the path is across the wooden plank scaffolding. Start to walk across the planks. [action sequence begins] As Nate walks across the scaffolding, it starts to break away. Run across the scaffolding (may be confusing with the controller), and jump to grab the ledge at the far end. Pull up to safety. Sully jumps across the fallen pillars and joins up with you.

Walk into the next room. [movie sequence begins] Sully and Nate scan the walls with their flashlights and discover that the El Dorado statue may have been here. Nate picks up a coin and shows Sully. They see the grooves in the floor and decide to follow the trail, even if it maybe cold. Go to the left wall by the large jar and pick-up treasure 5/60 Golden Inca Cup. Walk out the passageways, back outside to the forest.

Before walking down the path, out of the jungle ruins, there's another hidden treasure. Up on top of the stone pillars, you'll see a saprkle on the top of the last pillar [X]. Go to the right and climb up on the slanted broken pillar. Jump to the top of the pillar on the left, then jump across the pillar tops to the last one. Pick up treasure 6/60 Silver Turtle. You should also have received another reward Beginner Fortune Hunter for picking up 5 treasures. Jump down to the ground.

Walk out of the forest following the narrow path, to the ledge overlooking the waterfall. Walk to the right. [movie sequence begins] Nate and Sully look over to the waterfall and "I'll be damned"... an old WW2 German submarine perched in the waterfall. How the heck did it get there? Must have got stuck during flood season? So it looks like someone else got word of the famed treasure and decided to try and claim it. CHAPTER ENDS.
