GAMEPLAY + WALKTHROUGH NOTE: Eventhough Chapter 13 still continues in the game, I chose to break it up into 2 pages because it was just too long.

Once you're through the gate it will close behind you. Run down the ramp then run like mad to the stone pillar dead ahead. Laser sights will pick you up from the sniper on the high balcony on the right. While in cover mode [circle], roll to the small retaining wall on the right and pick-up the grenades and dragon sniper rifle. Roll back to your position against the stone pillar. Roll to the next stone pillar on the left past the walkway. Aim the telescopic sight [L1].

Find the sniper on the high balcony on the right. You may have to wiggle your position to find him. Shoot him quickly (1-2 clean shots) before he finds you in his laser sight. Now pivot around your shoulder view [L3] and find the other sniper along the left building balcony (he's trying to pin you down with the laser sight). Find a clean shot and take him down before he locks onto you. Go back and grab your M4 rifle and shoot the soldiers trying to move up on you and Elena.

1 of 2 safari guys with an RPG is on the right side of the courtyard and will make his way to the stairs leading to the library. I was able to keep 2 bullets left in the sniper rifle and took him down right at the foot of the stairs. Run up and grab his M79 RPG grenade launcher. There's 3 shots left. Run to the pillar near the steps of the library and look to the alleyway on the other side. 3 more soldiers run in. Blow them away with all the grenades. Pick-up your M4 again. Find ammo!

There are still a few of Roman's soldiers and Eddie's mercenaries trying to pin you down. Load your 92FS pistol (because you have lots of ammo) and work your way around the right side of the courtyard to the alleyway. Pin them down behind the baracades. Try for a headshot while they're crouching. Run up the steps to the tree in the middle and pick-up any stray ammo (leave the SAS-12 shotgun). Run back down and head for cover behind another stone baracade.

Go down the dark alleyway first to the back courtyard. Go to the coner on the left and pick-up treasure38/60 Silver Coatimundi. Run back up the alleyway and peek out from the wall to the right. There are still 2 soldiers and a safari guy with an RPG. Jump down from the steps. Roll to a stone wall. Load your pistol and wait for clean shots as they move around. Once quiet, go to the far right corner [X] and in the debris pick-up treasure 39/60 Spanish Gold Chalice.

From here, walk back to the entrance ramp where you first came in. At the top of the ramp, jump over the stone railing on your right [X] (face the courtyard). Walk around the corner and grab treasure 40/60 Silver Toothpick. If you're keeping track with all the treasures then you will also get the Professional Fortune Hunter Medal (40 found). Walk up the steps of the library. Go to the left and make your way up the steps to a hole in the wall on the right.

[movie sequence begins] Much to their surprise, Nate and Elena sneak into the library and find Sully talking to 2 soliders down on the first floor. He's going on and on about this girl he met in the Philipines and how she was a little piece of dynamite. The soldiers are tired of his stories and want him to get back to work before the boss come back. One soldier sees Nate. Oh Crap!

ANOTHER BIG GUNFIGHT! Duck for cover behind the nearest pillar. Strategy here is to take down all the sniper on the upper level balconies first. 2 snipers have laser sights. Load your 92FS pistol and try for a clean headshot. If you don't get them on the first shot, keep drilling them with bullets til they go down. Run like mad to another corner of the balcony. Don't let the snipers move up on you. Be careful not to get caught in the laser sights from guys below.

One of the soldiers has a Derest-5 gun. Grab it and focus on the guys below. There's 1 safari guy with an RPG and 2 soldiers with laser sights. Find holes in the railings and thread your shots where they can't see you. The Desert-5 will kill anyone with 1 shot. Don't worry about loading up on ammo for now. Run around the perimeter of the room and find the best vantage point for taking down the remaining stragglers below. Once quiet [movie sequence begins automatically].

Well well well! If it isn't Sully himself working for the other side. Wow! Hold on a minute. You left me for dead and didn't even check for a pulse. Drake's little book took a bullet for me. Being that I owed Roman a debt, it was worth my while to stay alive and wait for you. I sent him off on a red herring on the other side of the monastary. Anyway I see you have the girl with you.

That's right Sully! and don't even think about ditching her. She's the reason we're alive. She's got my back and she has a mean right hook! OK ok. So the clue is the sacred heart symbol. It marks where the treasure is buried and it's right here in the monastary. Nate... I know we're close. All we need is in this little book and we'll find the treasure and be outta here in no time.

There doesn't appear to be any way out. Climb up the rubble by one the statue columns. Jump across and grab the edge of the column and pull up. Face one of the statues. Use [select] and call-up the page with the map of symbols. Each statue represents an animal or a person and they have names. Each statue also has a position relative to the compass in the floor. The key to the puzzle is to turn and face each statue in the direction marked in the book.

Approach the statue and interact [triangle]. Turn the base of the statue in the direction that matches the book. Look over the side to see the matching position on the tile inlay in the floor below. Once done, jump to the next statue column and repeat the process. Look in the book again, match the symbol with the compass direction, then turn the statue to face that way using the floor as your guide. When all 4 statues are aligned, a bookcase will open in the wall.

Safety drop down to the floor. Elena will run to the bookcase and grab a lit torch. With Sully and Elena at your side, walk down the dark stairs to the room below. Sully says.. not another damn library? Before going up to the right wall with the torches, go down the left wall and look for a sparkle on the floor. Pick-up treasure 41/60 Golden Cup And Cover. Now walk up to the right wall. Use the hint button [L2]

Consult Drake's book again [select]. Seems there's something about turning the torches upside down? Find a ceremonial torch on one of the pillars and turn it clockwise [triangle]. Go to the other pillar and turn the second torch clockwise so it faces upside down. [movie sequence begins] The wall starts to make a noise and a hidden wall releases and drops to the floor. Sully, Nate and Elena move in for a closer look.

[movie continues] Sully shines his light down the dark passage. Nate takes the flashlight and looks down the dark passage. Well.. Nate says I'll go alone. You guys wait here. It's safer and quieter if only one person goes and you'll both be safe here, because none of Roman's men know this room exists? Sully hands him a radio and says keep it on Channel 13. Nate bumps his head going in. I DID NOT SEE THAT! CHAPTER ENDS.
