Ambushed

Ambushed 1 [opening movie sequence] Nathan Drake our lead character, is a misfit renegade treasure hunter, trying to make a decent living, hoping one day to strike it rich. His recent obsession is the lost treasure of legendary explorer Sir Francis Drake, which he believes is more than just a legend. To make this expedition a reality, Nathan has been funded by a network TV show who has sent along a video reporter Elena Fisher, to record the adventure for a documentary.

Ambushed 2 Nathan & Elena are aboard a cargo ship out at sea. They have just recovered the coffin of Sir Francis Drake from the bottom of a coral reef. Nathan opens the coffin and true to his hunch, there is no body! There's a small box and inside a secret book written by Drake himself. The notebook is full of charts with co-ordinates and clues which may lead to the legendary El Dorado treasure from Peru. Unfortunately, they're being tracked by modern day pirates!

Ambushed 3 Nathan is not that surprised that there are pirates nearby. Elena starts to panic! Elena thinks they should call for help, but Nathan informs her (reluctantly) that they don't have a permit to be out here and the authorities might be a little late. So.. Nathan gets out his toolbox and hands Elena a pistol. The pirate boats start to appear over the horizon. Time for a little gun play. Of course Elena has been filming all this time and finally puts down her video camera.

Ambushed 4 One by one the boats will start to pull-up along the cargo ship. Use [L1] to load your pistol. Use [R1] to fire a weapon. A small target ring will float on the screen. Use your left analog stick to control Nate's movement. Use the right analog stick to control the aim of a loaded weapon. YOU DON'T HAVE UNLIMITED AMMO! Ammo counter appears in the upper left hand corner when a weapon is pointed. First, aim and fire on the explosive barrels on the pirate boat.

Ambushed 5 If you're quick enough, fire on the other pirate on the boat before he fires too many shots at you. If you let him go for too long, he'll jump into the water and climb aboard your cargo ship. Should you take injury from gunshots, the screen will flash red every time you're hit, and the screen will start to go grey as you lose more health. Take cover using [circle] and over a few seconds, your health will recover and the game will go back to full color. Take down the pirates.

Ambushed 6 Most of the time, enemies will leave behind weapons or ammo. Walk up to any dead enemy and look for a sparkle. Use [triangle] to pick-up items. Reload your pistol ammo from the dead pirates. If you're in close range, you can also fight enemies with your fists. When you're close enough, use [square]+[triangle] for brutal combo attacks. The more one-on-one attacks you perform, the more medal points you can collect (up to a maximum of 80 points).

Ambushed 7 More pirate ships come along side the cargo ship. Take down the pirates as they come aboard. The last pirate ships have grenade launchers and will kill you if you don't take cover. Use the crates in the middle of the deck, and crouch behind them [circle]. After the greandes stop, the pirates will come aboard. The cargo ship will start to break apart as a fire rages on in the cabins. Eventually the ship will be totally engulfed in flames. Elena and Nathan jump over board.

Ambushed 8 [movie sequence begins] Elena grabs her camera at the last moment, and the 2 of them jump into the water. The cargo ship blows up into a thousand pieces as they swim away. Nathan's partner, Victor Sullivan, flies overhead in his pontoon plane and lands in the water nearby to rescue them. "Nate" is glad to see "Sully" and Sully already knows Elena from her TV show and introduces himself. They settle into the plane and fly off to Sully's island home nearby.

Ambushed 9 Back at Sully's home, Nate & Sully are talking inside the boat cabin. Nate feels that this is finally it! This notebook from Sir Francis Drake is the key to the treasure. Sully cuts to the chase and wants to know what treasure? Nate shows him the map leading to El Dorado! (or as Sully says.. "El God damn Dorado") The mythical Peru statue believed to be 500 pounds of gold. Sully says they should lose Elena thinking she's trouble, and speed off in the boat leaving her behind.
