When gameplay returns climb back up the ladder to the temple of light. Do not climb out to the floor. Stay hanging from the inside of the mouth of the statue and draw your gun [L1] (I had my Wes.44). Wait for the soldiers to come running down the stairs and take positions to the right. Pick them off with headshots when they stand still, or peek out from behind cover. Once they'e down, crawl out from the ladder.

Take cover behind the giant golden daggers. There's an armored sniper patrolling the upper exit hallway. He has a laser sight on his rifle and is deadly accurate. From behind cover, wait for the sniper to walk out to the edge of the upper hall. Use your target ring [L1] and wait for the perfect headshot with your gun. If you have the 92FS pistol, it may take 2 shots (he's wearing a helmet). Once he's down, the coast should be clear. There may be 1 soldier flanking you on the left.

Run up the front steps to the landing. Wait for Chloe to rejoin you. Now run up the last set of steps to the cathedral hall. Pick-up the Dragon Sniper Rifle. Go to the left and duck for cover behind the column. There are 2 soldiers off in the distance, peppering you with bullets. Load the sniper rifle, zoom-in with the scope [R3], catch one in the cross-hairs and shoot. He'll leap backwards from the bullet impact. Pick-off the other soldier when he peeks out.

One more soldier will come running into the hall at close range. Chloe will start shooting him right away. Transfer to your pistol or take him down with hand-to-hand melee. You'll want to keep the sniper rifle for awhile, but remember you only have 5 bullets, so make wise choices. Keep your pistol loaded and sneak down the stairs on the left and around to the next hall. Watch out for a wayward hand grenade. Take down the soldier trying to ambush you.

Because there was only 2 bulets left in the sniper rifle, I chose to drop it and pick-up the FAL rifle from the fallen soldier (more ammo is better). Around the corner, several soldiers will run up the steps and take cover blocking your way. Take them down as they storm your position. When the coast is clear, Chloe will yell to you to get going. Run across the water pit and climb up to the stairs. Sneak your way back up SLOWLY! with your rifle aimed ahead of you.

Unfortunately, your searchlight is on, so they know you're coming (you can hear them yelling). Watch for another wayward grenade. Up top, take cover behind the broken column and pepper the soldiers as they come out from behind cover trying to advance on you. Chloe will help out but all she does is soften targets for you. Don't worry about headhsots, just clear the way ahead. Drop down to the next flooded area. Watch for the soldier with a riot shield.

Hopefully, you've been savvy enough to pick-up some greandes on the way. Load and toss a grenade [L2] right near the soldier with the shield. If you're close but didn't kill him, he may stumble around enough for Chloe to get a shot in (which happened in my case). Once he's down, grab his riot shield and load your gun. I now have the Micro 9mm Uzi so I'm good to go. Make your way down the next passge. You can now confront any soldier head-on.

load up on ammo and greandes as you advance down the tunnels. Eventually you'll reach the stairs leading back up to the secret temple. Watch out for the grenade that gets tosses down the steps and lands right next to you. Drop your riot shield and run back. Wait for the armored soldier to walk down the steps and pepper him with the Uzi (or a well-placed greande). Walk up the steps and advance to the narrow stairwell.

If you still have the riot shield, you'll now have to leave it behind. Drake walks up the steps. He turns off his searchlight about half way up. Unfortunately, because you're in a tight space, you can't draw a weapon until you're at the top and emerge inside the secret temple. You'll be immediately under fire by more soldiers. Run and duck for cover on the left.

When you get a chance, or are feeling brave, run over to the center broken column and grab the Pistole. Run back under cover. The Pistole is a 1-handed mini shotgun that is great for quick close range 1-shot kills. I have no idea whether the kills register as "headshots", but it's fun and effective anyway. The target ring is a proximity bracket so aiming doesn't have to be precise. Peg the nearby soldier on the right.

Watch for 2 or 3 more soldiers trying to flush you out. Use the Pistole and make them pay. Once the area looks clear, wait for Chloe to emerge then sneak under cover up the steps and around to the front. Stay behind the wall of the pool, or go for cover behind the wall on the left. Another armored soldier with a shotgun, walks into the foyer. Use a hand grenade first to soften him up, then your Pistole or FAL rifle to finish. He is tough, so keep peppering him til he goes down.

Chloe runs ahead and takes cover just outside the front doors. She yells back "oo Shit! They're everywhere!" It's pouring rain and misty outside (nice weather effects). Take cover behind the column on the left. Look around the courtyard. There's trouble everywhere. 3 laser snipers in the upper storey balconies. 4-5 soldiers down in the flower beds. Load your FAL rifle, zoom-in using the scope [R3] on the snipers and take a few shots. Kill all the snipers first!

Wait and make sure you have no red laser sights on you! Stay behind cover and look for the soldiers down in the courtyard. Zoom-in with the scope [R3] on your FAL rifle and scan for targets as they come out from behind cover. Pick-em off as they start shooting. Watch out for one soldier trying to sneak up on the left. If he gets too close, sneak down the wall to the left and wait for him with your Pistole.

When you're down to the last solder standing, Chloe will run ahead down the steps into the courtyard. Sneak down the steps and take down the last soldier with your Pistole. There are no treasures in this area so just scrounge for ammo, nothing more. Join up with Chloe over by the door. Walk up to the terrace [movie sequence].
