After finally figuring out all the puzzles under the Spyinx, Lara find herself in a long underground tunnel. Listen to the sound of wind and crickets from overhead. It sounds like we may just make it outside once again.

The first thing that confronts Lara, is how do you get out? Way up at the top of the rock cavern, there is an overhead grate with a blue handle. For some reason, everything you do to try to pull that handle doesn't work. Until you turn around with your back facing the far wall, then jump to pull the handle. The trap door falls away from the wall, and you can climb to the surface. Up top, 2 large mutant scorpions come after you. These guys need 3 grenade blasts. Keep your distance will firing. Grab the medpack and jump the pit to the left.

Fight a couple more large poisonous scorpions along the way and jump the next pit over to the wall of the great pyramid. It looks like some of the inclined blocks on the pryamid are climbable, but you cannot reach the doors half-way up. At the far end, you can make a series of jumps across the pit to the building on the far side. Go in the small steel door on the right and prepare for a big battle. May be an idea to SAVE GAME. As you enter, a large scorpion off to the right has a soldier in his grips and is about to kill his prey.

Run to the left of the scorpion. Use a larger powerful weapon (like a shotgun) to kill the scorpion. DO NOT HIT THE GUARD. If Lara successfully kills the scropion first, a movie sequence shows the scorpion flinging the guard against the wall while Lara finishes him off with pistol fire. The guard then hands Lara a set of keys. If the guard dies, you won't get the armory key which holds a secret in another level. Once you have the keys, grab all the goodies in the room, back across the pit and climb the pyramid.

Look for flatter blocks. Start on the right (west side). Go up 2 tiers, then left. Take a running jump, slide down 2 tiers, then continue left. Climb the blocks up 4 tiers. Off to the right you can see the entrance. From the very edge of the block take a running jump to the entrance. Use the guard key to open the door. Go inside, walk down the slope, level ends.
