This level starts with a set of swinging pendulum blades and a number of pesky bats. This seems almost too easy after everything Lara has been through in the last 3-4 levels.

Enter the large inner chamber avoiding the pendulum blades. Walk down the stairs slowly. About 1/3rd the way down, Lara looks up to see a gold star. Using the revolver with laser sight, aim and shatter the star. 2 mummies down below are waiting. Grenades or explosive arrows are your only option for these guys. In the lower room, go to the left side of the outward sloping wall and jump inside. The trapdoor should be open. Go down the long passageway and enter the room with the rope and concealed blade pit.

Run jump, grab the rope and pump swing to the other side. You can hear the concealed blades springing up as you cross the pit. Take out the 2 mummies as they walk together towards Lara (one grenade will do). Go to the right and swing across the pit with 2 ropes. You can safely jump to the far ledge WHEN THE CAMERA VIEW CHANGES. You need to pump Lara's legs [R2] as hard as you can to clear the blade pit below. Pull the handle up the hallway revealing a trapdoor and backtrack across the pit. Now go left and swing across.

The trapdoor that you opened with the switch is up the hallway. Climb up into the star chamber. A hooded Horus sentinel guard with one of those energy sticks is waiting for you up there. I used tons of Uzi clips to take this guy out. You can get by him using med-packs if you want, to conserve on precious explosive ammo. Using the crowbar grab the Western Shaft key from the base of the star and back track to the start of the level. Go down the sloped passage, avoid the horizontal blade trap and open the trap door at the end.

Up top, 2 scorpions come attack right away. Take them out and go to the 2 small pyramids. On the left is a wall switch to push. This opens the top of the 2nd pyramid revealing a shaft. Carefully climb the blocks of the 2nd pyramid then at the top back jump, grab the edge of the wall ladder and climb down the shaft. Go down the passages jumping past the pendulum blades. At the end, pull the chain then backtrack one passage. Monkey bar across the pit and through the open gate. SAVE GAME HERE. Slide down the cave slope and jump across the blade pit.

Slide down the rest of the slope and fall through the opening in the floor. You are now at the bottom of the Spyinx. Notice behind you the closed gate where the guardian bulls and hieroglyph buttons were. Run up the slope level ends.
