After surviving the train crash, Lara is now inside the train station, which looks more like a warzone. Now it's time to go inside the labs and find Amanda? |
Lara is standing on a metal grate platfrom. Look up the right side for a boom crane. Up top, there's a shiny glitter surface. Use the grapple and pull the crane boom towards Lara. It's spring-loaded and will return to it's original position in a few seconds. With the crane boom close to Lara, release the grapple and grab the dangling rope. Let the momentum of the crane boom carry you to the other side. Release and jump to the metal grate platfrom.
Go left. Climb the ladder on the metal column. Jump right and grab the top of the billboard sign on the wall. Shimy to the left then jump and swing through the 2 poles and grab the far billboard. Jump down to the platform below. Before going on, look down to the floor. Find the wooden crate. Shoot-out the crate. Pick-up bronze reward 3/5. Climb up to the metal grate platform. Look up. Find the grapple point for the crane boom and pull it in.
Quickly let go of the grapple, and right away jump to the dangling rope before it gets away (very tight spring). Let the momentum of the crane boom carry you over the flaming wreckage and jump to the suspended metal grate platform. If you want to explore go ahead. Use the movable crate to jump back up to the platform. Look up to the top of the wall. Look for the explodable target [triangle]. Load your assault rifle and destroy the fan.

We're now inside the ventilation system and it's very very cold. The place is in a bad state of disrepair and there are live electrical wires everywhere. Zip warns Lara to be careful (understatement). As you come up to a set of dangerous wires (they'll be sparking), jump over, tumble under or crouch around the hazard. If you do get injured, it will take a big chunk of your health. Work your way down the maze of tunnels and across the pits.
At one point, not too far into the tunnels, Lara comes across a dead scientist. Pick-up his letter and the heatlhpack if you need it. Lara reads the letter out loud to Zip and Allister. It's so sad. All these research people were left to die, after the experiments here, somehow went terribly wrong. Farther into the tunnels, there will be a pit to cross with a secret. Drop down and grab bronze reward 4/5.
Work your way through the tunnels and drop down into the generator room. Before going to the left, go to the right. Look for the junction boxes on the wall and climb up. Jump to the overhead catwalk. Use the grapple and pull the cage door open across the gap. Jump over the gap. Shoot out the wooden crate and pick-up silver reward 2/3. Go out the other side of the cage and jump down to the floor. Don't bother shooting the wooden crates.
The generator is idle. Use the grapple and try to start the engine. It doesn't seem to have any juice. Lara realizes that it must be out of fuel. There's a fuel storage tank to the right with a spout attached to a rope. Go to the left and climb the broken stairs and catwalks around the back of the generator. Jump to the rope. Lara's weight will pull down the spout. The engine fills with fuel. Now use the grapple to start the engine. TADA!

Now that the power is on, all the layout maps light-up, and more importantly, the double doors are now unlocked. Go through the doors into the hallway with pipes. That green gas is poisonous. Stay away! Jump to the metal grate platform above the pipes. Use the overhead bars and swing over the fence to the upper platform. Jump to the dangling rope, shimy down, then jump to the metal grate. Go right and jump to the next metal grate.
To make matters worse, now there are arcing electrical conduits. The arc is deadly like the gas. As the arc passes down the pipe, jump to the pipe and shimy to the left. Down the last hallway, the long overhead pipe is electrically charged. Wait for the arc ball to pass then quickly jump to the pipe. Monkey bar down the pipe all the way to the end. Use [triangle] to speed up. Drop down to the metal grate at the end. Go thru the doors.

[movie sequence begins] Lara walks into a large room and then sees Amanda. Amanda sees Lara but pays almost no attention to her. Lara is apologetic and filled with sorrow for leaving Amanda back in Peru, but Amanda keeps walking. She's bitter that no-one seemed to even try to save her? Amanda says that all that doesn't matter any more and Lara will be the one falling behind (to dig) now.
