[Movie sequence countinues] Back to present day. Lara feels a need to go inside the ruins to look for evidence about Amanda (whether she is still alive or not) and clues as to how her mother died. Anaya wants absolutely nothing to do with this and says she'll stay up top. Lara understands and asks her to keep an ear out for Zip. |
First thing to do is scrounge around. Around the back of the stack of wooden crates by the crane, look for bronze reward 7/8. There is nothing more (no ammo or healthpacks) lying around. Go towards the pond at the back of the pit. Between the 2 wooden fences grab bronze reward 8/8. Don't worry. There are no soldiers or goons near the area (at least for now). At the back of the pit is the lagoon. This was flooded many years ago. |
Jump into the lagoon and swim down the deep well. At the bottom of the well, swim right and look for the first well shaft going up. Swim up til you find an air pocket. You'll have to watch Lara's air supply closely because advancing through these tunnels will be tricky. After Lara recharges her air supply, swim back down the tunnel and go right again. Find the next air pocket and swim up to recharge. Now, swim down and find the broken iron gate. |
Swim down through the gate then along the tunnel. Swim up to an air pocket (looks like a cave). From the surface, look underwater for 4 blue crystals, one in each wall. Dive down. Using [triangle] pull all 4 blue crystals then surface. You should have enough time to do this in one breath. [movie sequence begins] After pulling the 4th stone, a large obelisk stops the flow of water and the room begins to drain. Lara stands inside a large room. |
Lara digs through the rubble and finds Amanda's shoe. She is shocked that she found it. Her laces have been untied? Maybe she didn't die afterall? What happened down here? Off to the right, down one of the side passageways, grab silver reward 2/2. Go to the back wall with the hole in the doorway. There's just enough room to crawl through. Jump through and approach the stone statue [movie sequence begins]. |
Lara and Zip read and interpret the hieroglyph inscriptions on the wall. It tells a story about the Queen of Tiwanaku. Her father was king but raised by a warrior. A shaman gave her a staff, a gift of great power, that let her rule for many years. Later there was a power struggle and she died from the conflict. She was carried off in a boat to paradise. |
Nothing more to see here. If you find the area too dark to maneuver, turn on Lara's flashlight. Walk out the other side of the room into the open chamber. Look up. It's quite high. Go to the left and grab the wall legdes. Jump up 3 ledges, lean to the right and jump across the gap to the ledge. Look up. The overhead beam has a grapple point. Jump. In mid-air use the grapple. Pivot on the grapple til you line-up with the alcove on the right. |
Using the left analog stick, pump your legs back and forth to get enough swing momentum then jump to the alcove. To the right, there's another overhead beam. Jump again and use the grapple on the beam to swing across to the far steps. Walk up the steps to the giant cathedral Hall of Light. [action sequence begins]. As Lara attempts to cross the stone blocks, they start to give way. Follow the button sequence and make it across. |
