Tomb Raider Legend

Peru Paraiso

At this point (completing Bolivia), there is an option to go into Croft Manor to brush-up on your skills and unlock new rewards. I chose to wait til after Peru.

Paraiso Village 1 [movie sequence begins] Lara returns to Croft Manor. She consults with Zip to find out who James Rutland is. Seems he has a rich family heritage (father is a senator) and has connections similar to the Croft family. Lara is curious about the stone dais found in Bolivia. It's eerily similar to the one in Peru and in Tibet. She plans to rendezvous with Anaya.

Paraiso Village 2 Coming into the village, Lara is not surprised that all the locals scatter. It seems they know something bad is going to happen? First up is a series of voluntary training exercises. There's a scarecrow dummy to practice with. Alot of these moves are designed for new enhanced combat moves like jumping off an enemy, or knocking the feet out from under an enemy. Once done, go off to the right and explore the area. Look for a raised box.

Paraiso Village 3 Jump on the raised box at the back of the house and walk onto the roof. At the top of the roof, look to the overhead powers wires and a streetlight (see arrows). This is a grapple point. Jump towards the building on the other side and in mid-air use the grapple [X]. Swing across to the far rooftop. Walk over to the edge of the roof. Look down. Jump down and grab bronze reward 1/8. Nearby is a movable crate. Push it to the fence.

Paraiso Village 4 Jump on the crate and hop over the fence. Walk to the left into the town square. [movie sequence begins] Lara meets up with Anaya, an old friend. Anaya is worried that Lara is looking for something that should be left in the past. She tries to convince Lara there is nothing here and she should not go looking for trouble. Lara has different plans.

Paraiso Village 5 Of course, trouble begins right away as a truck full of soldiers rolls into the town square. Take cover behind the truck and pick-off the soldiers one at a time. Blow-up the local hazards [triangle] when you get a chance. Pick-up an assault rifle as soon as you can, from one of the fallen soldiers and load-up on fallen ammo. Work your way around the perimeter of the town square taking cover behind building columns whenever possible.

Paraiso Village 6 The assault rifle is deifnitely more powerful than Lara's pistols. The lock-on target works from greater distances, and soldiers fall within 10 shots. There's lots of extra ammo lying around and Lara can carry more reserve (120 ammo). After killing all the solders, a sniper runs out onto the balcony. He is deadly and Lara must take cover. I ran to the other side (by the flagpole) and picked him off from behind on the columns. Now a small detour.

Paraiso Village 7 Run back to the church steps. Go to the left. Look for a broken section of railing. Jump to the roof of the vendor hut then to the building veranda roof. Swing across the 2 flagpoles, to the far building roof. Pick-up bronze reward 2/8. From the rooftop, stand under the cable and jump up. Lara will slide down to the other side of the square. Run towards the flagpole and turn right down the street. Find bronze reward 3/8.

Paraiso Village 8 Walk back into the square and find the flagpole. Shimy up almost to the top, and look left for the broken section of railing on the building balcony. Jump to the balcony. Go to the doors at the end and kick them in. Inside, pick-up silver reward 1/2. Come back out. Look for the overhead streetlamp. Use the grapple [X]. Swing across to the far balcony. Kill the soldier inside the far room and grab all the grenades. Go out the back door.

Paraiso Village 9 The gun battle begins right away. With the assault rifle, pick-off the soldiers on the 2 balconies first. Then lock-on to a target below and throw 1-2 grenades. This will make it easier to continue the battle as more soldiers come out. Don't worry about your health. There will be plenty of healthpacks to recharge. Continue fighting til all goes quiet. Jump down below and pick-up ammo and healthpacks. Find the nearby ladder.

Paraiso Village 10 Climb up to the balcony and tin roofs. Go slowly inside the room and pick-up any ammo you're missing. Out the far doorway there's another firefight. Pick-off as many soldiers as you can from up top, then jump down to finish the job. Look for any local hazards like drums or transformers to blow up that can help you. Pick-up any loose ammo along the way and use up your grenades whenever you can. There are lots of grenades on the ground!

Paraiso Village 11 Before going down the last street on the left, look to a building on the left, near 3-4 wooden barrels. Go down the alleyway and look to the right. Pick-up bronze reward 4/8. One more gun battle. A pick-up rolls in from the left and 6 more soldiers jump off. Use the local hazards (look for the triangles) and take down all the nearby soldiers. 2 of them head for cover behind a set of wooden crates, so watch your target ring as they run out.

Paraiso Village 12 Almost done! The last section of street has 4 more soldiers. All of them are hiding behind crates so grenades are your best option. Use the pick-up truck for cover. Look for the lock-on traget then toss a grenade. Hopefully, you can take out 2 at a time. Of course, you can always run up and ambush them? Once done, make sure you reload all your ammo and health (srcounge around). Approach the motorcycle [movie sequence begins].
