[movie sequence] Lara approaches the statue and crypt of King Arthur. She talks to Zip and Allister about how this is all coming together now. It always comes back to swords and stones. Excalibur and King Arthur. All the stone diases they have seen around the world. The monomyth may be more real than they first imagined. Could Avalon really exist?

Maybe Avalon is on the other side of the looking glass?. Lara finds another tomb around the left wall in the circle of Camelot. It's BEDWYR. The inscription on his broken stone says that he came back to Camelot with a piece of Excalibur to give to Arthur, after the other pieces were carried off by other knights. That may help to explain the 4 empty tombs? Maybe they left to find the holy grail.

Bedwyr's stone coffin is movable. Drag the broken half of his coffin over to the other side of the crypt next to the half broken column. The bell has a counterwieght that's dangling in mid-air from a chain. There's also a movable chandelier in the middle of the crypt. The goal is to ring the bell. First, stand in front of the broken stone dias in the floor, by Arthur's statue. Use the grapple and pull on the chandelier all the way in towards you.

Release the grapple and let the chandelier swing. Quickly run to the broken column. Climb up on BEDWYR's tomb and pull up on top of the broken column. Jump to the right to the counterweight. Lara's extra weight will pull the counterweight down to the floor, lifting the bell up off the floor. If the chandelier still has enough momentum, it will crash into the bell ringing it. [movie sequence begins].

The harmonic resonance of the bell causes Arthur's protective egg shell tomb to burst, exposing Excalibur. Lara walks up and pulls out the sword fragment. She apologizes to Arthur and says she wouldn't take it if it didn't mean so much to her. She asks his forgiveness. Zip yells at Lara in a panic. Something's happening up top. No matter. Lara has bigger problems.

Walk out the door leading back out to the lagoon. [movie sequence] A giant snake serpent raises his head out of the water. He's nasty and he spits some evil green plasma. He definitely wants to kill Lara. The serpent reacts to the sounds of the bells ringing. Go the bell on the right and using pistols, fire a few shots at the bell. The serpent will be hypnotized by the ringing but just for 2-3 seconds. Immediately use the grapple on the lever.

Pull the chain lever to lower the cage. Hopefully you are fast enough that the cage lands on the seprent's head. The serpent will react by destorying the bell and the rock column. His health will be drained by 1/4. Go the bell on the left and using pistols, ring the bell. Again, as he gazes at the bell, quickly pull the lever and drop the cage on his head. The last 2 bells are accessed from the bridge. |

From the end of the bridge, ring the bell on the right first. When he gazes at the bell, grapple and pull the chain lever. Between bell 3 and 4, the serpent will take a few swipes at Lara. Don't worry. He won't win. Keep at it. Run back to the end of the bridge and shoot on the last bell. Grapple and pull the lever when he gazes. [movies sequence begins]. The serpent succcumbs to his injuries and falls into the water. His head rests on the shore.

Jump in the water and swim to the bell column on the left (what's left of it). Climb out and walk to the left. Climb onto the back of the serpent to his head. Jump to the crack in the wall. Jump up and grab the ledge. Pull up and walk down the stone hallway. This is a checkpoint, not a bad place to save game. Jump over the pit and in mid-air use the grapple to swing across to safety.

Jump and slide down the cave through the section of ramps. Leap over the gap in the ramp. [action sequence begins] The serpenet is not done with Lara yet and comes back for a surprize attack in the cave. Follow the button sequence, jump on his head, blow out the pin holding the iron gate and tumble under the gate is it closes behind you.

The iron gate slams shut and the serpent is trapped in his lair. Lara points her pistols at the serpent and there is a moment of eye to eye contact. The serpent and Lara are both very quiet and stare at each other for a few seconds.. Maybe a sign of mutual repsect? She doesn't shoot him and walks away.
