In the movie sequence, Lara stows away on a fishing boat that Father Patrick uses to get to the remote monastary on Black Island. Lara find herself alone on this creepy island, trying to find her away to the village complex. First thing I noticed is that it's raining and you can hear lots of wildlife. Very much a tropical setting somewhere in the Carribean. Lara of course has no weapons.

Right off the bat, Lara has to cross a very deep gorge that looks impossible to survive. Looking from the ledge, you can see a series of white and gray sloping stone ramps. Take a run jump to the far ramp dead ahead. It appears to be a long impossible jump, but Lara lands safely. Facing the wall, Lara can jump and grab an overhead crevice. Shimy across to the left and continue right around the corner to another white and gray ramp. Lara will slide and then catch her step before the end.

Turn to the right and you'll see another steep ramp and a wooden tressle bridge off in the distance. Jump to the ramp then slide back and grab the ledge as you fall. Below and to the right is a small rock ledge. Drop to the ledge then jump to the cave opening in the cliff. Grab the medpack and the 1ST SECRET ROSE. Drop down to the valley floor and cross to the slanted pedestal block on the far side. Climb up through the opening and up the series of tunnels to where the level started.

Retrace your steps across the gorge again and this time, at the last ramp, shimy across the ledge around the corner of the pillar. Right below is a crawlway. Drop and grab the ledge. pull up into the crawlway then slide down the ramp once you stand. To the right is another set of white and gray blocks. Climb up and jump to grab the vined ceiling (which is actually the under carriage of the bridge). Monkey bar across to the other side. Grab the medpack to the right. Slide down the ramp.

SAVE GAME HERE!! Once Lara starts to wander around the courtyard, she may wake the little demon troll, hiding in the barrel by the hut, which you want to avoid at all costs!! If she accidentally wakes him, he will follow behind and torment Lara (taking her health), wherever she goes. Weird and creepy noises! So be cautious. Walk up to the tree and watch the movie sequence with the hangman (who is actually a demon trapped in the dark world between the living and the afterlife).

If you do wake the troll, I recommend reloading the game. Stay on the steps for now. To the right is a sloped face. Grab the ledge and pull up. Before Lara can slide back down, do a back-flip to the wall behind. Pick up the 2ND SECRET ROSE. This is a good vantage point to see the entire coutryard. Off to the right is a cave entrance. Run jump to the cave. Grab the overhead wooden slats and monkey bar to the tunnel. Climb up to the high ledge overlooking the courtyard right by the hut.

Yes, it looks crazy. Lara has to do what seems to be a suicide standing jump, and drop into the well, right through the roof of the hut. Once in the water, watch your air supply. The tunnels are long and dark and like a maze. At the first *T* intersection, turn right. Follow the broken arches and bear left down another tunnel. At the next *T* turn right and follow the path. When you see a glimmer of light, go up. The exit is up a long square tunnel shaft. You emerge at the mill pond. LEVEL ENDS.
