Lara re-enters the Louvre museum from the basement stairs after leaving the Archaelogical Dig Site. Gunderson (Eckhardts goon) is waiting with a SWAT team. |

Lara suspects this time will be very different. Load the K2 Impactor, just in case. As we wind our way up the stairs, Lara comes across her first objective. The small gallery off the landing. A security guard inside the gallery spots Lara. 1 shot from just inside the door, paralyzes him. Pick up his MV-9 gun. Continue up the stairs to the main gallery entrance. A SWAT team member is waiting. Take him down. |

As Lara enters the main gallery, a warning light flashes. There's poison gas everywhere, and Lara has no gas mask. From here on in, Lara's breathable air, and therefore her health, will slowly degrade. We'll have to find the gas masks up near Carvier's Office before she loses consciousness. As you enter the gallery hall, a SWAT team commando spots you by the gallery doors. Take him down quietly with the K2 Impactor. Grab his Mag Vega Machine Gun. |

Run inside the gallery with weapon drawn, and duck behind the display case. Wait for the SWAT team commando to come running up to you, then hit him at close range. Grab his Vega clip. Run down the gallery to the exit at the other end. Go left and draw your weapon. By the stairwell, there MAY be a SWAT commando waiting. If not, run up the stairs. About half way, he'll come up behind you. Take him down from the stairwell. He has no ammo to give you. |

Climb all the way up the stairs and open the door leading to the research hallway. Draw your K2 gun again and paralyze the SWAT team commando runnning out of Carvier's office. Go inside the first room on your right. We've been here before. Inside the computer room, is the cabinet with the glass case. Go inside and take a gas mask. Lara also gets a new strength upgrade giving her ability to sprint. Go to items and [use] the gas mask, to activate it. |

Run out from the office and [sprint] down the hallway. Go back down the stairs. In the lower hallway, watch for 2 SWAT team commandos inside the doorway. Take them down quickly. They have deadly accurate shots. Take their Vega ammo clips. Go through the door with the red light on the left. Sprint through the gallery into a large foyer. A SWAT team commando drops from a rope. Take him down as he lands. He has no ammo. |

Lara can go out the left or right doorway. Doesn't matter. Out in the grand entrance hall a SWAT commando is patrolling. When Lara sees his searchlight, run out and zap him with the K2 gun (preferably from behind). This attracts another SWAT commando patrolling down the stairs. He cautiously walks up the steps to investigate. Hide behind a pillar until he reaches the top step. Peg him from close range. These 2 guys were especially hard. If they were able to start shooting, Lara's toast. |

Walk down the entrance staircase and at the bottom go left and through the doors. The doors at the end of the hall on the left are locked. There is an open door on the right. At the end of the next hallway, to the right, is a washroom. Nothing there. Walk into the small gallery with the rows of glass display cases. LEVEL ENDS.... Long movie sequence begins. |

Enter... Kurtis Trent. Kurtis launches this strange weapon? A flying disc with sharp retractable blades. It glows orange when it's flying and it seems to be under some sort of mind control.. This guy Kurtis is a little strange and has some unique telekinetic powers? He sneaks up behind Lara and ever so gently, disarms her. Almost in a seductive trance! |

There is a tender erotic moment when they almost kiss, but then Kurtis takes off in a flash. Gunderson (Eckhardt's goon), comes in with a SWAT commando and starts shooting up all the glass cases. Lara runs for it and tries to catch Kurtis. Kurtis flings his blade disc again, and dislodges a huge Chinese gong. Lara and Kurtis escape, as the gong rolls blocking the passage. |

Kurtis seems to be super-human, or at least way above Lara's league? Lara tries in vain to catch-up to Kurtis but finds herself always 1 or 2 steps behind him. They both run down an alleyway and as Lara turns the corner, she finds Kurtis unconscious on the pavement. As she reaches down to find out if he's still alive, she herself gets knocked out. LEVEL ENDS. |

ABOUT KURTIS: My guess is Kurtis Trent is a member of the Lux Veritatis order of warrior monks. His telekinetic abilities and disc weapon would be in keeping with the legend of the secret order. It would also make sense that he watch Lara and join forces for now, because he would have a vested interest in protecting the Obscura Paintings as bound by the charter of the monks? And... how did he get possession of a Periapt Shard? The one Lara takes from him. |
