Power Chamber

Power Chamber 1 If you've accidentally made your way to the basement before (by pulling the wrong hallway lever), then you already know that this is not a fun place. There are many death-traps to get past. The fastest and easist way to get to the power chamber door, is going through one of the earth symbol hallways. Drop down through the trapdoor and slide down the ramp to the lower exit hallway. As you walk out, notice there's a set of rails running in a circle.

Power Chamber 2 There are death-traps everywhere. Be carfeul. Go left. Jump over the first lava pit. As you walk down the center of the next section, watch for the deadly spears that eject from the walls on either side. Maneuver your way past the blades, walking from left to right, then jump the next lava section. Along the dark interior wall, there's a set of doors. Open them. There's a spiral staircase leading down. Take the staircase all the way down to a metal door.

EXTRA GAMEPLAY: Should you want to explore and go to the right, be careful for a spiked drum that rolls down the rails towards you. Lara can avoid it by ducking into a hallway, or out-running it in the other direction. You can't jump over it. There are goodies in the exit hallways. Use the chains at the back of each manual elevator. You evenually come back out, inside the the main level of the Hall Of Seasons. Go back through the trapdoors to re-enter the power chamber.

Power Chamber 3 As you get close to the door, it will lift on its own. Inside the next small hallway, there's a lever on the right wall and another metal door at the other end. Pull the lever. This will close the door by the staircase, and open the entrance door to the power chamber (like an airlock). Walk down the next set of stairs.

Power Chamber 4 WOW!! This is huge! Walk out to the wooden catwalk, engage [walk] and look around. Look up and look down [R2]. We're in a massive underground cavern that has been converted to a complex maze of machinery and pipes and catwalks. In the middle, there's a boiler furnace that's not running. Lara's job is to get that furnace powered-up. Notice that there are familiar element symbols hanging from chains. They point to 4 pipe valves that need to be turned in sequence, to start the boiler.

Power Chamber 5 The first valve is close by. Walk down the wooden catwalk to the left. Engage [walk] and go out along the beam. Turn the valve. There's a gushing sound like water, as the overhead pipes come alive. Look for another symbol. There's another symbol, high on a ledge to the left. There are no catwalks or ladders nearby. But.... if you look closely, there is a long cable stretching from the center platform around the boiler, up to a catwalk against the wall.

Power Chamber 6 To get there, go to the middle of the catwalk and face the edge. Do a standing jump and grab the edge of the boiler catwalk. Pull up and go left around the boiler. Stand under the cable, grab it and monkey bar across the cable to the narrow catwalk against the wall. Go to the left and up the ladder. Turn the valve up top. Lara will again hear rushing noise as the overhead pipe starts to flow.

Power Chamber 7 From this high vantage point, look around the chamber for another symbol. Off to the right, almost directly across, there's a high balcony with another symbol. Climb down, then back across the cable and around the boiler catwalk. Stand on the edge of the catwalk right next to a driveshaft mechanism with gears at the bottom, and face the outer catwalk. Jump to the catwalk, grab the edge and pull up.

Power Chamber 8 From the catwalk, climb the ladder on the left against the wall. Up top, turn the valve. Lara will hear the overhead pipe start to flow. Climb back down the ladder to the catwalk, then walk across on the beam to the recessed foyer. Jump to the ladder and grab. Climb down through the hole in the floor, down to another beam. Make sure [walk] is enaged. Walk out the beam and look around again.

Power Chamber 9 The last symbol is near the boiler on the lower catwalk. If you had explored that area before, the valve wheel was locked by a cage door. Now that the 3 other valves have been opened, the cage door on the 4th valve will be open. From the end of the beam, jump up and grab the cable. Monkey bar down to the boiler catwalk. Before going to the boiler, climb down the ladder from the catwalk down to the power chamber floor area (the blue area).

Power Chamber 10 Be mindful, that Lara MAY encounter a skeleton warrior down below. He was there on some level reloads, and sometimes NOT THERE? If he is, load the shotgun, and position Lara in such a way that she can blast him backwards, into the lava pit. There are bandages and a large medpack next to 2 of the wooden cable wheels. On one side of the floor area, there's a ladder leading up to a catwalk against the wall. Remember this one. This is your way out!

Power Chamber 10 Climb the ladder back up to the boiler. The door to the furnace is open. You can look inside and see that the fire is starting. Go around to the right. The cage cover is now open. Turn the valve on the boiler. Another gushing noise and then a big clunking noise. All the gear assemblies and driveshafts around the boiler, start to slowly wind. THIS MAY BE TROUBLE? As the gear driveshafts start to gain speed, nasty metal blades start to deploy and lock in a horizontal poisiton. They are everywhere!

Power Chamber 12 This is not good! Look up and then look down. The gearshafts below also have long metal blades spinning around but there are gaps between them. STAY WHERE YOU ARE. Don't wander around the catwalk. You'll die instantly. Aligned with the boiler valve, safety drop down from the catwalk, to the blue grating below. Lara will land safely between 2 spinning blades. Walk straight out to the catwalk and then climb the ladder. Climb the next ladder then up the stairs and out to the spiral staircase.

Power Chamber 14 Climb the spiral staircase then out to the death-trap tunnel. Go left. Jump the lava pits, walk past the spears, then jump the next lava pit. Run past the giant saw-arm that comes out from the wall, and duck into the hallway on the right. As you go inside, that spiked drum on the rails will go by. Close call! It won't come back. Go to the elevator cage and pull the chain at the back. Halfway up you can grab bandages and ammo. Pull the chain again. We are now back up top in the Hall Of Seasons.

LEVEL ENDS.. SAVE GAME! Continue the walkthrough on the level Lux Veritatis Atrium. In the game it is actually the Hall Of Seasons again, but I don't want to confuse the readers with 2 levels of the same name.
