Tomb Raider 6

Derelict Apartment Block

A movie cut scene shows Lara being chased by a police helicopter. She runs into a nearby vacated apartment building. After barring the front doors shut, she finds herself alone in the front lobby. The police are trying to break-down the door.

Derelict Apartment Block 1 There's nothing of any interest here on the first floor. Moving the large cabinet to baracade the door is useless and a waste of time. The police will just push it aside. The elevator by the stairs isn't working and the elevator car is on another floor. Run up the stairs to the first hallway. Grab the medical kit. Go up the stairs, jumping over the hole in the stairwell. A simple hop-jump will do it. As you round the next stairs, the police break-in through the front door. You can't go back downstairs now.

Derelict Apartment Block 2 To make matters worse, the police throw a few tear-gas canisters into the lobby. It quickly starts to get smokey in the stairwell. As you climb, the smoke will disappear, and you'll be safe for a short while, but the smoke slowly rises up every level over time. Any back-tracking will be problems for your breathing. The yellow oxygen bar will appear below the health bar in the upper left corner of the screen. As the bar goes down, Lara endangers her life and must climb to safety.

Derelict Apartment Block 3 If you run out of breathable air, you'll die! GAME OVER. Similarly, if you accidentally go all the way down the stairs, back to the first level, you'll be captured by the police. GAME OVER. You CAN escape the tear gas by entering one of the rooms on the 3rd floor that isn't locked. As you enter, Lara's oxygen meter will climb back up to full strength and disappear. Search the cabinets in the room for some goodies. Should be a desert eagle gun and some ammo (for another gun you'll get later).

Derelict Apartment Block 4 As you approach the landing between the 2nd and 3rd floor, a section of wall collapses through planks covering the floor. This will leave a huge hole in the floor that you'll have to cross. Run-jump, grab and pull-up the other end to continue up the stairs. There's a cabinet blocking the stairs at the 3rd floor. Pull the cabinet away from the stairs and continue up. Don't forget to check all the hallways. There are goodies around. Don't waste too much time. The tear gas is still coming.

Derelict Apartment Block 5 Go up as far as you can go. You'll eventually come across a blocked stairwell at the top floor. In the corner of the landing, is a crate. Pull the crate away from the wall, then go behind the crate and push it to the edge of the stairs. Climb onto the crate. Jump and [action] to grab the far railing. Pull up over the railing. Go through the door on the right, into the elevator mechanical room. You'll be safe in here from the persistent tear gas, for a little while.

Derelict Apartment Block 6 Grab the exit door key on the floor and the apartment 21 key hanging on the wall. Go to the motor assembly and pull the lever. This will activate the elevator and bring the car up to the 4th floor. Go back into the hall and inside the elevator. A number keypad will appear on the screen. With the directional buttons, press 2. The elevator will take you back down to the 2nd floor. You have the key to the locked apartment. Go to the room and search for goodies. Return to the top floor press 4.

You should have more than enough time to get back up to the top floor even though the tear gas is everywhere now. Go back into the mechanical room and out the metal door (which you now have a key for). LEVEL ENDS.
