This is a huge room. Any fall off the aqueduct catwalks will be certain death. The water level in this room, can be changed to 3 different levels. The top turnstile will turn the water on to fill to the level that we are standing at. The turnstile down on the floor, will drain or fill the stone pool area at the bottom of the room. Be aware, there are 2 alligators swimming in the lower pool right now. Filling the room, will release them into open water.

The object of the level is to get to the 2 wooden crates and move them to the bottom, currently sitting on upper platforms. They have to be resting on 2 pressure pads at the bottom of the pool. We do this be changing the water to different levels and pushing the crates off the ledges. Down at the bottom, the pressure pads control iron gates in the floor, releasing a wooden raft and an artifact. The raft is needed to exit the room.

Because I don't like surprizes, I chose to get rid of the alligators first. From the high catwalk, walk out and jump across the first gap. Look to the right. The pool below is within diving range. Leap off the catwalk and jump into the pool down below. Quickly swim to the left and pull out to the floor between the stone pillars [X]. The alligators will be right behind you. No need to shoot them from here. Walk to the left. Walk up the ramp over by the wall.

Jump over the stone wall to the open area. Look for the water turnstile on the right. Push the turnstile [triangle] and drain the lower pool. Looking over the edge, you'll see the 2 alligators below. Jump down the broken stone ledges to the platform just above the floor. Load your 50-cal guns. Look for a red lock-on target ring on either alligator. Even if not, shoot to get their attention. I found that they moved anyway. Jump down and kill them.

Stepping on each pressure pad will show you which gate is released. Now to get out. Go to the back wall with the blocks. Behind the blocks to the right pick-up a large medipack. Climb the blocks up to the incline ramp. Jump to the ramp. Slide down and quickly use your grapple to grab the overhead wall hook. Swing run across to the other side. Release and land on the stone block. Jump to the stone ledge and shimy left around the corner[1].

Jump up one ledge. Lean back and jump to the horizontal bar [2]. Swing round the bar release and grab the next stone ledge [3]. Shimy around the pillar to the other side. Lean back and jump to the next horizontal bar [4]. Swing around and release to the next stone ledge. Shimy around the pillar to the left and pull up on the block platfrom in the corner [5]. Slide down the ramp and halfway jump to the stone platform. Climb up the broken stones out of the pool.

Lara now has to climb back up to the top catwalks. There's a broken stone ramp to the right of the turntsile (where we first climbed over). Run up the ramp and jump to the stone wall. Jump over the wall and find the incline ramp to the first pillar you see. Walk up the incline ramp and grab the stone ledge on the pillar. Jump up the ledges [6], shimy to the left and jump up the horizontal pole. Turn around, swing and jump to the wall platform.

Pull up on the platform. Go to the wall and pull up the stone ledges [7]. I would suggest manually saving game here, because the next jump is trickey. From the tight ledge, take a running jump and grab the small stone ledge on the pillar [8]. Steady Lara's hand [triangle]. Jump up to the next stone ledge. Shimy to the left and pull up to the top of the catwalk [9].

From the catwalk, walk over to the small alcove with the turnstile. Push [triangle] the turnstile and turn it to fill the room with water. The room fills with water right to the top of the aqueduct catwalks. Jumping in the water is now safe (no alligators). The first wooden crate is in the next alcove along the same wall. Walk out over the catwalks to the left. Jump the gap. Look to the left. There's a small hole in the wall on the far right.

Jump in the water and swim across to the hole in the wall. There's a small platform to climb out onto [X]. Jump to the stone ledge above you. Lean back and jump to the stone ledge on the other side. Shimy around to the left and pull up inside the alcove. Push the wooden crate out over the catwalk. At the end of the catwalk, push the crate over the edge, into the water. It sinks to the bottom. Go back to the turnstile and empty the room.

This time we're going for the other crate. Go out the catwalk and to the right, back to where Lara entered the room. Take a running jump and grab the horizontal bar along the right wall. Swing and release. Use the grapple [square], grab the overhead hook and swing run across the wall. At the end of your swing arc, release and push left. Land on the broken catwalk of the pillar. Grab the 50-cal ammo. Run jump to the stone ledge in the wall [X].

Shimy to the left. Jump to the other wall ledge. Shimy around to the front. Lean left. Jump and use the grapple on the overhead hook. Swing run across to the far ledge against the back wall. Walk along the stone catwalks, jumping over the gaps, around the stone platform with the fountains, then around the back of the far wall. Jump to the horizontal bars and swing through to the stone platfrom on the right with the wooden crate.

The crate is in a dangerous spot. It's on a ledge of a broken section of the platform. Position Lara just to the left of the wooden crate. Gently push the crate over the edge to the ground below. To get down, safety drop down to the edge of the platform. Shimy to the left to the stone ledge. Drop down one ledge. Shimy to the right, under the platform. Jump to the next stone ledge. Lean left and jump to grab the ladder on the back of the pillar.

Climb down the pillar ladder to the bottom. Jump to the floor. Watch for an alligator. One of my game reloads, the alligator was lurking around on dry ground? Go to the wooden crate (the one you just dropped). Push the crate into the pool. DON'T JUMP IN THE WATER! There will be another alligator if you haven't seen him already. Run to the right. Jump up to the broken pillar. Jump over the stone wall. Find the first wooden crate.

Grab the first wooden crate and push it between the 2 stone pillars. Push it over the edge of the pool into the water. Now both wooden crates are at the bottom of the pool. Go to the right, climb the ramp, jump over the stone wall and go to the turnstile. Push the turnstile and empty the pool. Jump down the stone steps to the bottom of the pool. Load your 50-cal guns and shoot the alligator. Now push both crates to the pressure pads.

The iron gate to the wooden raft opens but the other one holding the artifact doesn't. There's a wall lever nearby we'll get later. Climb your way out of the pool. Push the turnstile and refill the pool with water. The wooden raft floats to the top. Walk right to the dark floor section. Climb over the pillar rubble. Pick-up the small medipack. Use the grapple and pull the raft into one of the canals. Now make the long climb back up to the top.

STRATEGY: Make sure you kill a total of 4 alligators. Roam the floor level around the pool to find the 4th one. He's probably over by the far side of the pool near the pillar with the ladder. It will make everything easier (for getting goodies) once the room is full of water again.

Once back up top to the upper catwalks, go to the alcove and push the turnstile to refill the room to the upper water level. Dive into the water. Go down to the lower levels and pick-up stray ammo in the alcoves or wall ledges you missed before. Swim to the front of the room and find the lever on the back of one of the pillars. Pull the pillar lever. Go up and get air then swim down to the very bottom and grab artifact 1/1 and the goodies.

Swim back up to the surface. Swim to the front of the room. The raft should be inside the small section lined by stone walkways. Swim through the gap and climb out on the wooden raft. Jump to the stone walkway. Use the grapple and pull the wooden raft so it's just under the stone platform leading to the fountains. Jump to the raft then jump and grab the edge of the platform. Pull up and walk out to the room with the fountains.
