If you've released the wall lever on the 2nd floor terrace, climb up the side of the Midas statue to the 2nd floor terrace. Go in through the opened doorway. Walk down the hallways (lit with flame pots) til you reach the cave room with the lagoon. Walk out to the catwalk. Stepping on the pressure pad at the end of the catwalk trips a switch. The room lights up with flames. All the support columns out in the lagoon start to cycle off and on with fire.

First, before swimming in the lagoon, make sure you take care of the alligator. He's in the back of the lagoon waiting for you. To lure him closer, jump in the water and swim around in a small circle. The alligator will come chase you. Quickly jump out to the left stairs. Load your pistols. Locate him with your lock-on target ring [red]. From the safety of the steps, shoot the alligator. He'll stay close by.

Once the water is free of danger, dive into the lagoon. Swim to the back of the cave. Around the back of one of the pillars, there's a lever. Pull the lever. A cutaway scene shows a pillar driectly above you, rising out of the platform. Swim back to the stairs and walk out to the end of the catwalk. Watch the flame cycles and jump to the circular pedestal. Run and jump to the right. Grab the ledge of the next platform. Use [triangle] to grab hold.

Pull up. Watch the flames as they cycle around the platform. After the flames pass, run behind to the right and look for a stone ledgge to grab on the central pillar. Jump up, shimy left and jump the stone ledges to the top. If Lara is too close to any flame, you'll see a small bite in your health bar. At the top, lean back and jump to the balcony ledge along the left wall. Pull up. Go to the back wall. Pull the wall lever. Another pllar rises up from a platform.

Go back out to the edge of the balcony. Safety-drop to the ladder and climb down as far as you can go. Lean back and jump back to the circular platform. Run to the right and jump to the next platform. Jump again to the far circular pillar and grab the ring. Shimy to the left. Jump to the stone block in the water. From there, jump to the wall ladder. Climb up the ladder to the other balcony. Pull the wall lever at the back. Another pillar rises up.

Climb back down the wall ladder to the bottom. Jump back to the stone block. From the stone block take running jump back to the column. YOU MAY NOT REACH! If not, swim to the stairs on the right and go back to the catwalk. Jump across the platforms til you reach the pillar with the rings. Shimy all the way around to the back. As the flames go out, jump up over the lion heads on the pillar to the next ledge. Pull up to the top of the pillar.

Look to the next pillar. As the flames pass by below, take a running jump and land on the small circular catwalk. Quickly run left and look up for a stone ledge. Jump up and shimy around to the left. As the flames cycle off, jump up to the next ledge. Shimy around to the next ledge. Again, wait for the flames to go out, then quickly jump up to the next wall ledge. Pull up on top of the pillar. Run jump to the back terrace. Grab the lead bar [X].

Pick-up the small medipack by one of the pillars. If you're NOT INTERESTED in the second relic and just want to get on with the game, jump in the water and swim out to the stairs. Go back out the hallway to the statue courtyard.

If you ARE INTERESTED, jump back in the water and swim out to the stairs. Walk back to the catwalk and jump to the circular pedestal then to the ringed pillar. Climb the pillar then jump across to the baclony. This is where we found the first lever. From the edge of the balcony, look up. There's a grapple point high on the wall [1]. Jump off the balcony and use your grapple to grab the hook. Swing run across, release and grab the ledge [2].

Line-up with the stone ramp beneath you. Drop down. Slide down the ramp and leap to the ledge on the back wall. Jump right to the back stone wall. Jump up one ledge. Lean back. Jump to the next stone ramp, then quickly jump to the overhead horizontal bar. Swing to the next horizontal bar, then jump to the point of the small stone pillar. Jump to the next ramp then jump to grab the back of the pillar. Pull the wall lever inside.

[Save Game] manually as soon as the [checkpoint] registers. A cutaway scene show a small cubby-hole inside the pillar above you exposing a spinning relic Griffin Head. YOU'RE NOW ON A TIMER! Lara has 90 seconds to get to this cubby-hole before the pillar drops back down into the platform. Quickly jump into the water and swim out to the stairs.

Run to the catwalk and jump to the first pedestal. Jump to the next platform and run to the left. Don't worry about the flames or your health. Jump to the next pedestal then quickly to the next platfrom. Sprint shimy around to the left using [triangle]. Climb up the pillar then back jump to the far pillar. Run to the left and pick-up the Griffin-Head Protome relic.

Like all other relics that you collect during the game, Lara can go back to Croft Manor and view her rewards in her Gallery Room on the 2nd floor. Of course, you have to first SAVE GAME, or SAVE REWARDS if in replay. The Griffin-Head Protome relic will be in a display case along the front wall.
