Ripto's Rage

Winter

For me, this level was the second-most fun next to my favorite level, Aquaria Towers. Manager Droid needs you to restore order on the farms. Sheep are flying around in flying saucers, cows are using weird ray-guns and the pigs have rocket-packs. Way too funny. Needless to say, make it to the exit portal where Inventor Droid has an orb.

Metropolis 1 The ray guns are very fast but you can jump and flame the cows before they zap you. Some have sweeping ray guns and some have shot ray guns. Watch the cows with shields especially if there are rocket pigs nearby. If you wait for awhile, they'll fire a pot-shot at one of the pigs causing him to go flying out of control up in the air before crashing back to their original position. As you learn from Maintenance Droid, you have to headbash the elevators to make them work. Make sure you look in every corner. I found a couple of gems on a shelf I nearly missed.

Metropolis 2 Once you reach Inventor Droid and get the orb, there is a new combination superfly power-up which includes a pulse gun for Spyro. This is a cool power-up and one you should get familiar with because you'll need to know how to aim it right, when you fight Ripto. Gunning down the saucers is fun but watch out for the pulse gun that they use from the back of the saucers. Don't follow too close. Best to get them from underneath when they fly overhead not seeing you. You can also perch atop one of the platforms and wait for them. Don't forget to collect the stray gems.

Knocking the first 3 saucers out of the sky is worth 1 orb, then knocking 5 more aggressive saucers is worth a 2nd orb. While in power-up mode, shoot down all the balloons, and collect all the gems. The final orb challenge is up the wall ladders to the skating rink with Logistics Droid. Use the bombs and head-butt them back to the ox. The secret is to stand on the far ledge and wait for a straight one to come your way.
