Lila the Faun "California valley-girl", tells you about the big ugly earth shapers that have encased everything in stone. You're first job is to free all the musical Satyrs. Each Satyr bagpipe movie sequence is fun to watch as the traveling musical notes encircle and explode away sections of the castle in the center of the level. The talisman is held by another valley girl faun Sheila, inside the center castle.

Fracture Hills 1 The trees with the beehives can be flamed once to return the bees to the nest, and then the tree flamed again to vaporize it. The big grey earth-shapers were a mystery because they seemed indestructible, but then I discovered that if you charge head-butt them head-on, they jump back. If you position Spyro just in front of them, just out of hammer range, you can head-butt them and they'll fall backwards into a lava pit behind them. They look surprised and then explode to pieces. This doesn't kill the blue guys.

Fracture Hills 2 Before you carry-out the first orb challenge from Spinner, to free Krista from the chamber, make sure you clear out all the earth-shapers you can from the 2 lava areas. You need all 14 to activate the supercharge powerup nearby. This doesn't include the earth-shapers in the blue area. Just off to the left of Spinner, is a supercharge power-up for breaking down doors. Follow the ground-marked trail around the level bashing doors, jumping, and collecting gems as you go. You need to complete the whole circuit in supercharge to bash the door by Spinner.

EXTRA HINT: There is a hardened gem chest inside a small room against the cliff, near the earth-shapers. To break open this chest, you need to go to the supercharge gate first. Spyro needs to zoom around the supercharge loop again, all the way to the end where Krista was hostage. Just before you reach the chamber, turn hard left and supercharge the ramp where the last satyr was standing. Jump over the side of the ramp down to the small lava island below. Still in supercharge, jump over to the far side, up the steps and run into the room. You should be able to break the chest.

talisman In the blue area, Hunter's feet are trapped in stone. Find the alchemist in the next chamber and escort him past the earth shapers for the 2nd orb. The 3rd challenge will come with Hunter, once you have the ability to superheadbash later on in the game. The 3rd orb is awarded for bashing all the wounded earth shapers after Hunter knocks them down.
