Talk of Pirates 1 Welcome to Mutiny Bay in the South Pacific. This is home to the worst band of pirates known to Sly and his gang. Bentley talks to Sly about Black Spot Pete. He's an old retired pirate who may be a wealth of information? The object is to find out about a very secret treasure map. Black Spot Pete may know where that treasure is? Dimitri has called-in a very special favor that Sly owes him. Dimitri wants to recover his family's prized scuba gear worn by his grandfather.

Talk of Pirates 2 Gamplay turns to Sly. From the starting point on the rooftop, load the binocucam and find the bullseye target. Black Spot Pete is standing on a nearby balcony. Jump across to the rooftop and down to the balcony. Walk up to Black Spot Pete. [Movie sequence begins] Black Spot Pete has no idea who Sly Cooper is, and is not about to talk treasure with anyone other than a fellow pirate.

Talk of Pirates 3 OK... THIS IS A DEAD END? [Movie sequence begins] Bentley suggests to Sly that the only way he is going to convince Black Spot Pete to talk with him, is to find a pirate disguise. To build a disguise, Sly is going to need to steal a few pieces of clothing from the locals? Not an easy thing to do, being these guys are hardened criminals and thieves and aren't going to be convinced easily. Stone Jake, one of the area's local security, will be the first victim. Sly needs his eye patch.

Talk of Pirates 4 Stone Jake is patrolling over by the islands. From a nearby rooftop, load Sly's binocucam and find his bullseye target. Run across the wooden plank bridge. JAKE HATES MONKEYS! They have been known to reek havoc on the camping areas and he'll do anything to get rid of them. Sly's job is to lure Jake over to the boat anchor by the pirate's hideout at the other end of the island. Once there, Sly can slam the anchor knocking Jake out. Opportunity to take the eye patch.

Talk of Pirates 5 If Jake hates monkeys, Sly's job is to act like a monkey. This will take Jake from his security patrols and he'll come running. To do that, all Sly has to do, is whack a nearby palm tree. The noise will alert Jake.. thinking monkey's are around. As Jake comes to investigate, run down across the open area (closer to the anchor), and whack a few more palm trees. DON'T FIGHT HIM! Lure Jake all the way across the island to the base of the wooden ramp leading up to the hideout.

Talk of Pirates 6 DON'T WAIT FOR JAKE. Run up the ramp to the top and find the switch by the railing. This switch drops the anchor. When Jake is standing in the shadow of the anchor (looking for monkeys), DROP THE ANCHOR ON HIM. The force will knock him out. Run down and grab the eye patch. Once done, load the bincocucam and find the observation point for the next job, up on the lookout of the tallest building in the center of the village.

Talk of Pirates 7 THIS IS ALMOST TOO CRUEL? [Movie sequence begins] Bentley tells Sly that Little John has a wooden peg leg. It would be perfect as part of Sly's dusguise? He wants Sly to steal his peg leg. Yes it's true... Little John is head of security and has 2 big guards with him at all times. Sly will have to lure away the guards, one at a time, and take care of them first, before he can grab the peg leg. Sly can't believe he has to do this, but the greater good of the gang's mission is at stake.

Talk of Pirates 8 Run across the rooftops and follow the group. Load the binocucam and find the bullseye target marking Little John. Jump down to the street and sneak up behind the last guard. WAIT FOR HIM TO STOP, YAWN & STRETCH. This will open a gap between him and the other guard and Little John. Pickpocket him first then take him down with the silent obliteration move. THE OTHER GUARD WILL COME RUNNING! Quickly run away and jump on a bounce pad to a rooftop, out of sight.

Talk of Pirates 9 The guard and Little John will hunt and search for you at street level, but eventually they will give up, and start back on their walk. Jump back down to the street, and sneak up on the guard walking behind Little John. Pickpocket him first and as Little John walks around the corner of a building, take down the guard with the silent obliteration move. QUICKLY RUN AWAY. DON'T LET LITTLE JOHN SEE YOU. Use a bounce pad and jump to a rooftop. After awhile, he'll walk away.

Jump back down the street and follow Little John. LOOK FOR THE AURA around his peg leg. You can only take his leg (by pickpocketing) when the aura is visible. Every once in awhile, Little John will get tired from walking and will sleep for a few seconds on the street (aura disappears). When he stands up again, pickpocket his peg leg.

Talk of Pirates 10 The 3rd and final piece of the pirate disguise is a captain's buccaneer hat. Load the binocucam. HE'S WAY UP ON THE CROW'S NEST OF ONE OF THE SHIPS! Run across the rooftops to the top of the HIDEOUT. Deploy the para-glider and soar over to the deck of the pirate ship docked in the harbor. LOOK FOR THE RIGGING ROPE dangling from the ship's center mast. Jump and grab the rope. Climb all the way up the rigging to the crows nest.

Talk of Pirates 11 [Movie sequence begins]. This captain is very paranoid and thinks Sly is one of Cantankerous Tim's henchmen, out to kill him, for revenge (for taking Tim's hat)? HE TAKES OFF! Sly has to chase after him to get the buccaneer hat back. Use the para-glider and soar down to the deck of the ship. RUN BEHIND THE CAPTAIN AND KEEP HIM IN YOUR SIGHTS. Load the biocucam often to keep track of the captain as he runs ahead.

CHASING HINT: Don't bother to try and take down the captain. You'll never get close enough to hit him. If you get too close, THE GAME WILL SPEED UP AND HE'LL RUN FASTER. You have to follow him through the entire obstacle course til he stops.

Talk of Pirates 12 The obstacle course chase will take you across most of the pirate ships docked in the harbor. Jump and run across the decks of the ships. No need to rush. Chase him across the wooden docks. WATCH OUT FOR BOOBY TRAPS. The captain will drop anchors and boats to try and stop you. Chase him down the streets and then bounce up to the rooftops. Keep him in your sights as he jumps over the buildings. Follow him over to the island around to the back of the pirate hideout.

Talk of Pirates 14 [Movie sequence begins] The captain is cornered on the island and is ready to confront his demise? Sly has no intention on hurting him, he just wants his hat? Oh...The captain says this ole musty thing? TAKE IT! Sly takes the hat and the captain is relieved that he's not gonna die. Sly now has all the pieces of the pirate's costume. Go to [select] and assign the pirate's costume.

Talk of Pirates 15 Now that Sly can disguise himself as Cantankerous Tim, work your way back to the balcony where Black Spot Pete is standing, and GO INTO DISGUISE before you face him. Black Spot Pete will engage in a insult competition (it's a pirate thing). Work your way through the dialogue, being careful NOT TO REPEAT ANY PHRASE. Eventually Black Pete tells Sly about the treasure map and where it may be? JOB COMPLETE.
