Bentley tells Sly that Carmelita is going out on one of her daily canal patrols. He knows that Sly has a thing for Carmelita and lets Sly know that the dreaded BLUE VIPER GANG is also patrolling the canals. If they run into Carmelita, things could get ugly. Of course, Sly being the romantic he is, doesn't want any harm to come to Carmelita. They decide to help her out. Bentley's takes off to get a power boat and tells Sly to meet him down by the docks.

As Sly jumps into the power boat, the BLUE VIPER GANG SPEEDS BY up the canal. The boat controls are easy. The LEFT stick controls the steering. [X] fires the machine gun. The object is to take down the 3 speeding boats before they get to Carmelita. Each boat has a power bar in the upper right corner of the screen. Each successful hit on a speedboat will dent the power bar on the boat you hit.
Be careful about overheating the gun if you fire too often.

Weave your way down the canal. AVOID THE OBSTACLES. Jump over any parked gondolas, wooden docks or floating crates. Every time you crash into something in the water, your boat will take a hit. Keep firing away at the boats in front of you. Time your gunfire for when you are speeding down a striaght stretch of canal. One by one, the Blue Viper gang boats will explode and break apart in front of you. Keep up the pursuit til the last boat goes down. JOB COMPLETE.

[Movie sequence begins] Carmelita seems to be oblivious to what just happened in the canals. She thinks this has been another uneventful, boring patrol. She enjoys the scenery of Venice and pauses for a moment to take it all in. She docks her boat and wanders back to Police HQ.
