Sly Cooper 2 Band of Thieves

Menace From The North
Bearcave Bugging

Bearcave Bugging 1 This is a very risky mission for Sly. Near the main sawmill, there's a bearcave. Bentley tells Sly that all the bears inside, have been tagged with radio transmitters. They could use these radio transmtters to build a remote listening array to find out what Jean Bison is up to. The difficult part is that the radio transmitters are INSIDE THE BEAR'S MOUTHS. YIKES!! Jump down from the silo and crawl inside the bearcave through the small opening in the rock wall.

Bearcave Bugging 2 ALL THE BEARS ARE SLEEPING, which is good news. All Sly has to do, is sneak up to a bear (NO RUNNING!), wait for the bear's mouth to open. Watch for the aura inside the bear's mouth. Insert cane (like a pickpocket) and yank out a transmitter. There are 6 transmitters in all. Watch out for the ice patches around the floor. You can't walk on any ice for any reason. The crackling ice will wake the bears, failing the mission. Sneak around the sleeping bears.

Bearcave Bugging 3 2 of the bears, are in remote caves that are isolated by ice all around. The only way to get near them is to climb the ice walls. With Sly's new ice climbing move, climb and pick across the ice wall and drop down in front of the last 2 bears. Retrieve the transmitters then jump back up to the ice wall. Pick your way back to the safe zone, with no ice nearby. Once you have all 6 transmitters, leave the cave and go back outside. Bentley briefs you on the 2nd half of the assignment.

Bearcave Bugging 4 Bentley has triangulated the best positions around town to place the transitters. All the locations have now been dowloaded into Sly's binocucam. Look for the blue target bullseyes and go set the 6 radio transmitters. Most of the locations are accessible by paraglider or by ninja spire jump walking. There is no time pressure on this assignment, so listen for the tinkle of clue bottles and collect along the way. As each radio transmitter is set, it starts to receive signals.

Bearcave Bugging 5 There are 2 transmitter positions that will be a challenge to get to. One location is on the top of one of the silos. Jump to one of the nearby cabin rooftops. From there, jump to the wooden catwalk where the logs roll down from the sawmill. Jump across to the ice wall of the silo and grab-on with Sly's ice picks. Pick your way up to the top of the silo. Set the transmitter. Paraglide over to the pile of logs and cargo containers on the left (by the cliff wall) for a hidden clue bottle.

Bearcave Bugging 6 The last transmitter location is above Jean Bison's House. There is no access by drainpipe from the house itself, or from any sawmill rooftop. You won't be high enough to use your paraglider? The key is getting hieght. Navigate your way to the top of the tallest sawmill (with the blades on the roof). Walk to the very end and ninja spire jump across to the ICICLE OUTCROP. Walk up the icicle to the cliff wall. Jump across to the next icicle and walk down to the very end.

Bearcave Bugging 7 Watch for the blue sparkle lights running on the edges of the icicles. Ninja spire jump from icicle to icicle, til you reach the end of the last one. From here, Sly will have enough height to paraglide across to the right side of the roof of Jean Bison's House. Grab the clue bottle. Jump up to the front of the house. Place the transmitter at the top of the dormer roof. JOB COMPLETE. Return to the HIDEOUT or your next assignment.
