Welcome to Clokwerk's world deep in the heart of Russia. This is a hostile place. There are no secret keys or combo vaults from here on out, til the end of the mission. This is all about survival. The first leg of this mission is to drive through the access roads across the lava lake deep inside the Krakow mountains. Clokwerk knows you are here and has set security traps along the way.

Blast open the doors using the laser gun mounted on Sly's van. Shoot out the lock to open the doors Sly's vehicle automatically starts to drive down the access road. YOU HAVE NO ACTIVE CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. It will not brake or stop or go backwards (Murray's driving). Aim and shoot-out the land mines blocking the road. It's very important that you blow-up ALL the land mines. The road is narrow, and you have no way of knowing where Murray's going to drive?

Once done, Murray will drive out to the lava lake. Watch for the robo-falcons flying overhead. Bentley breaks-in and tells Sly they will swarm and attack the truck if you don't get rid of them. Point and fire at the birds circling overhead. DON'T LET ANY FALCON FLY AROUND FOR LONGER THAN A FEW SECONDS. They will eventually catch fire and swoop down left or right, attacking Sly's van, if left on their own. Best advice is to hold down the [square button] to keep the laser gun firing.

After the falcons have been taken care of, a new threat. Bentley breaks-in and tells Sly that the mounatin tower off in the distance, isn't Clockwerk's compound, it's a giant death ray! The explosion releases an avalanche of boulders. Aim and shoot at all the tumbling rocks as they pass near the van. YOU CAN'T LET EVEN ONE BOULDER TOUCH THE VAN, or you're toast. After surviving this event, Sly turns ahead and down the next road section. MORE SWARMING ROBO-FALCONS!

There are more robo-falcons this time and they are flying in random patterns. Shoot away as best you can. DON'T LET ONE FALCON get close to you. As you finish that onslaught, Sly will turn his gun to the road ahead. MORE LAND MINES! Clear the road. Up ahead, giant land mine boulders are tossed down the road like bowling balls. Shoot at the rolling balls til they burn-out and break apart. ANOTHER WAVE OF ROBO-FALCONS swarn the van. Shoot em all and drive into the cave.

Murray drives into a cave that's full of computers. This is actually the next stage, but I have included it in this walkthrough page. The object of this mission is a race against time against enemies. Sly has to collect 60 computers BEFORE the lake slugs collect 60 computers. Not an easy task at all! This may take 2-3 tries to get the feel of the frantic driving you have to do, to stay ahead of the slugs. Best advice, keep ramming any slug back into the lake!

Once you've successfully collected 60 computers ahead of the competition, a set of doors will open in the back of the lake. Murray will drive through the doors but can't go any further. Sly is now on his own again. Walk through the iris portal.
