Spyro A New Beginning

Island Hopper 1 We are high above the clouds and now we have to cross a series of wooden suspension bridges. A few natives come running down the bridge, but they are no match. Even more fun is to flame them backwards and toss them over the side of the bridge before they are dead. You will get their gems after they fall. The bridge is not secure. If you walk along the edges, the bridge will tilt in that direction, so be careful. Cross over to the next pedestal island.

Island Hopper 2 [movie sequence begins] A Dreadwing flying nearby, picks up on you and lands right on the island. This is very tight, with no room for error. He can knock you through the fence and off the island, to your death. Flame him hard and then melee combo to kick some life out of him. Flame him again and melee combo kick him again and again. Keep this up until he vaporizes. He leaves behind alot of gems, so don't worry about your energy. Use it all up!

Island Hopper 3 Walk across the next suspension bridge almost to the island. 3 natives know you're coming. Lure the natives onto the bridge. Take care of business and flame them over the edge. Walk to the island. 2 stone crushers are walking around. Slowly sneak up on one of them and flame him to oblivion. Now go get the second one. If you time it right, you can use the stone wall as protection until you're right on top of them.

Island Hopper 4 [movie sequence begins] Overhead Dreadwings explode the suspension bridge leading to the far island. It looks like we're going to have to fly across. Jump high in the air [X+X] and glide your way across. Watch out for the Dreadwings nearby. They may clip you on the way across. Don't worry. You don't have to face them just yet. At least not all of them. Once on the island, go through the tunnel CAREFULLY, avoiding all the posion darts. Enter the courtyard ring.

Island Hopper 5 [movie sequence begins] The local tribal leader puts some special magic on the entrance and exit to the ring, so we can't escape, then runs away. OK. So we're going to have to fight our way out? There are 4 waves of natives and armadillos that you'll have to beat. In addition, powerslam the stone block at the bottom. Walk up the ramp (in a circle) until you reach the top and have taken care of all the locals. NOW, the tribal leader comes back.

Island Hopper 6 NOTE: I have now leveled UP my fireball to max and it makes quite a difference!

The tribal leader stays right near the exit. Use your firebomb and launch a few right at him. He will takes damage from the original explosion AND ALSO from the secondary explosions of your newly acquired powerup (great effects). After he goes down, break the spirit crystals and pottery.

Island Hopper 7 As Spyro walks out through the arch, from the ring, another Dreadwing drops down from the sky. Oh Joy? Remember the routine. Flame hard for about 2-3 seconds then melee combo in the air to knock some life out of him. Before he returns to normal color and can really inflict some damage, flame him again and again til he is slightly paralyzed. Melee combo kick him again and again til he collapses. Don't use the firebomb at close range! It will hurt you.

Island Hopper 8 Cross the suspension bridge to the next island. More natives and a leader are waiting. Draw the natives onto the bridge and flame them over the side. From the bridge, jump in the air and toss a few firebombs at the leader. You can kill him from here or walk onto the island and finish him off. Climb the steps of the stone wall for some pottery gems. Take care of the stone crusher at the back. More pottery gems are high up the stone wall at the back. Great view!

Once the fighting is over, walk across the long suspension bridge to the far island. The bridge to the small pedestal island has been blown out by a Dreadwing.
