Spyro A New Beginning

Factory Caves 1 This place is huge and you will be going through several areas. The local trolls come out and greet you. Take care of them quickly. Be on the lookout for hidden spirit crystals behind metal machines or rock walls. The machines pouring lava into the pools (with the Halloween faces) are fun to break. A good head butt and they fall and crash into a nearby lava pool. I did this just in case they came to life or something? You never know?

Factory Caves 2 Walk around to the right, then through the maze of twisted metal and rock walls. UP ahead a new enemy. Out from the lava pool, crawls 3 magmaworms. They are snake-like creatures that spit fire. Quickly switch over to the electricity breath. I didn't think fire would have much effect on them, being that they came from a lava pool? At least, you can shock them back into the lava so you can fight them one at a time... and they are tough!

Factory Caves 3 Worse comes to worse, go into the spark bomb [triangle] and use a few mid-air melee combos to take them down. Collect all their gems. Don't forget to fire bomb the local lava derrick so it's swings wildly out of control. I didn't see a lava cannon turret, but just in case. Break all the spirit crystals along the way and go into the next tunnel. Lots of fireflies and beehives. Take out the orange beehives then whack away with your tail or head butt, til the fireflies melt.

Factory Caves 4 Walk down the tunnel to the end. YIKES!! Another new enemy? This is a scorpion beetle and he's a nasty piece of work (worse than those Dreadwings). He shields himself from your flame attacks, likes to snap at you with his big claws if you come too close, and then fires a flame ball from his tail. Best offence is first the fire bomb. Get him glowing red then melee combo for awhile. Use the fire breath to keep him glowing red and punch him til he dies.

Factory Caves 6 The next cave has a series of challenges. Glide down to the lower floor area and take care of the trolls and warrior in the front. Power up with the nearby spirit crystals and then go after the scorpion beetle. I used the electiricty bomb [triangle] this time, to soften him up. It worked very well to immobilize him. Once he's paralyzed (and you HAVE TO keep him paralyzed), it was easy to melee punch and whack to knock him out. Keep at it!

Factory Caves 5 The trick to defeating scorpion beetles is speed. You have to keep them occupied with fire or electricity ALL THE TIME. If they get a chance to recover and attack, it will be trouble. Once done, climb back up the steps to the cave entrance. From up top, watch the spinning fans. Jump and glide to the first spinning fan. Align with the 2nd fan, and then jump to that fan. From there, run to the other end, then jump to the high cave tunnel. Walk to the end.

Factory Caves 7 This next cave is very spooky. Light is shining in from the right. Down on the floor area in the middle, is a huge gong bell. [movie sequence begins] Sparx teases Spyro about wanting to ring the bell. On a dare, Spyro whacks the bell and it falls on top of Spyro, burying him inside. In a burst of extreme energy, Spyro shatters the bell. Spyro now has a new earth breath (more like a shock wave). It has concussion powers and is very quick and deadly.

Factory Caves 8 Of course, you KNOW you're not going to get off easy. 2 waves or trolls and warriors jump down from the tunnels. Try out your new power! The only problem is that the new earth breath is not powerful yet, so it will take some time to level UP the earth breath to where it is effective. Switch over to your favorite breath. Take care of the group and go out the back tunnel. Fight your way along the tunnel til you reach the next area. [movie sequence begins]
