Spyro A New Beginning

After bailing from the minecart, Spyro and Sparx are outside the mine area. We are high up the cliffs of the volcano itself. Mine trains are whizzing by overhead.

Bettle Blockade 1 All I can suggest at this point, is load up with spirit power and level UP as best you can. I would strongly suggest full max power on your electricity breath and spark bomb. As you walk down in between the support columns, a scorpion beetle drops in to block the way. He's the first of many. Hit him TWICE with your electric spark bomb [triangle]. While he's trapped in the shock whirlwind, melee combo him as many times as you can. Shock him again and whack him hard.

Beetle Blockade 2 Once he's done, make sure you soak up all his gems and powerup with any spirit crystals nearby. Another scorpion beetle is up ahead. Jump over the small islands between the lava streams, and from a safe distance, fire a few electric spark bombs at the next beetle. Same tactics as before. Stay away from his claws and if you can, use your electricity breath (if it's at max power) and try to shock the beetle over the edge of the cliff. It will save energy!

Beetle Blockade 3 Next up, 2 bigger Dreadwings. They're grey in color and bigger! Same tactics as before for Dreadwings. Fire bombs and then fire breath with melee combos in between. Stay away from his haunting screech that will injure you and knock you over, in a daze. If you can get him glowing red, quickly switch over to electricity breath, run beside him to the left and knock him over the side of the cliff. Anything you can do to save energy is a plus! Break the spirit crystals nearby.

Beetle Blockade 4 WATCH YOUR POWER METER. Try to make sure it's at max at all times. Walk down the path a little further. Next up 4 magmaworms. Definitely elctricity breath is your best weapon. Shock them a few times, whack them hard. Shock them again and throw them back into the lava river or knock them over the edge of the cliff. Try to take-on only one at a time. All 4 at once will be too much for your spirit power, and you'll run out before they're all gone.

Beetle Blockade 5 Walk down the path a little further. We're making progress! Another scorpion beetle and then another Dreadwing come down to play. Use your best tactics or try a few new moves or spirit power combinations. This is the time to do it. Should you happen to die, you'll come back at the start, but the enemies you've defeated are gone, so you can continue where you left off (almost too easy). Collect the spirit crystals at the end and jump up to the overhead mine rail.

Beetle Blockade 6 The mine trains are flying by on the track. They come by non-stop, about once every 10 seconds. The mission is to get down the track to the other end, without getting hit or knocked off the track. NOT EASY! Along the way, there are suspended round platforms with trolls guarding them. Use your electricity breath to knock them off the platform. It's a resting point between runs along the track.

Beetle Blockade 7 There's no place to get a spirit power recharge up here, so watch your energy. Should you be knocking the trolls off the platforms all the time (rather than killing em up top), you may not get their gems to restore your health? About half-way down the track, one platform does act like an elevator. You can fly down to ground level, pick up all the loose gems from the enemies you just knocked off, jump on the platform and return to track level, up top (handy).

Beetle Blockade 8 There are 2 places where you can't outrun the oncoming train. You have to high jump over the train as it speeds by underneath you. You have to time this perfectly or you'll take injury and get knocked off the track to the ground below. The last set of platforms, are close together and you can use your electricity breath to knock the trolls off where they're standing. Once done, quickly run into the mine entrance. The trains will stop at this point. WHEW!
