Down in the canyon, Spyro meets up with some baddies with shields. The bad news is they have musket guns and they fire at you. The good news is, you can still run up to them, wait for them to peek from behind the shield, Flame 'em before they get a chance to shoot.

At the start of the level, the pesky blue thief, is off to the left. A few laps of the circuit will chase him down.
Free the 1st dragon on the right, cross the river, then proceed to the big guy with all the vultures. The 2 vultures on the posts, swoop down to get you, but a simple flame plucks all their feathers. The big guy guarding the stairs can be taken out with a flame, BUT DON'T GET TOO CLOSE.. The buzzard he's holding has a long reach. Up the stairs is the second dragon to the left. Ahead is an upper platform, more vultures, a walkway and the RETURN HOME vortex.

Don't go through the vortex just yet. If you notice off to the right, there's still an upper ledge, and 2 more dragons to get. Back at the second dragon, there is a ramp. At the very top of that ramp, you can soar to the entrance between the 2 towers on the left [left photo]. From there, climb to the top, then hugging the left side, glide around the mountain blind, to the next ledge. Up top is the 3rd dragon. From here you can jump across to the vortex platform area. Go back down to the 2nd dragon again and make the jump-glide over to the 2 towers again. This time at the top, glide right.
|
 |
From the next ledge, glide left between the next set of towers and down through the long tunnel with all the vultures. At the end of the tunnel there is another castle and lots more gems. Up on the right, there is a blue gem case which holds an extra life. the 4th dragon is inside the castle. At the back of the castle are steps to the roof. From there glide left. Explode the fireworks buckets, grab all the gems, and then at the very highest point, glide across to the far away island pillar, in the middle of nowhere. Grab everything, use the key and RETURN HOME.

There are 4 dragons to free in this level. Their wisdom is as follows:
MAGNUS = Repeats the importance of feeding Sparx lots of butterflies.
BORIS = Explains that Dry Canyon rewards good gliders.. (a hint)
MAXIMOS = Congratulates Sypro on a great glide & flame-broiling vultures.
IVOR = Tries to remember something about Spyro's childhood, but forgets.
