Welcome to Spyro the Dragon. The object of the game is to free all the dragons that have been turned to stone and to then go find the bad guy, Gnasty Gnorc, that did all of this in the first place. You meet some interesting challenges along the way and of course, get to collect a chest full of gems (about 12,000).

This is the very first level of the game where you get your bearings. Run around and learn to fly, jump, charge/sprint with your head down and basically flame everything within sight. Watch out for the water. If you step in the pool, you'll drown. The white sheep are your key to good health. Flaming a sheep will release a butterfly that Sparx, your sidekick, uses to restore her health to a healthy glow. Some jewel cases require a headbutt to smash them. Other jewel cases require a flame, then a jump, to grab the jewel that pops up out of the case.

The gardeners, scream and jump when they see you, and run away from you as fast as they can. You can catch up to them by sprinting. Explore every ramp, pedestal, platform and open area for gems. All the bad guys drop gems from time to time as well. It's also a good idea to explore the entire home world to find all the portals to new levels.
There are 5 in all to find. The last bonus level, SUNNY FLIGHT, does not open until all the other levels have been at least visited. You have to release 10 dragons to open this portal on the far side of the waterfall.

There are 4 dragons to free in this level. Their wisdom is as follows:
DELBIN = explains Sparx and his role following you around giving you health.
NESTOR = releasing dragons and finding the balloonist to go to the next world.
ARGUS = going through the dragon portal to fight the Artisan world boss.
TOMAS = explains the virtues of gliding and not to fear flying from high places.
