Spyro



This is a BIG LEVEL. Everything in Magic Crafters is in the clouds or in the sky. If you fall off the beaten path, you lose your life. Make sure you plan your jumps and glides accordingly. The big orange bears are no match for a flame even though they are HUGE. There is always a spell-binder nearby that controls these orange bears. The magicians like to move walls, and turn stairs into slopes. Watch their magic cycle and then time it in such a way to peg the magician controlling the move.

Alpine Ridge 1 Free the 1st dragon, and glide to the orange bear. Take him out, then time your next glide when the wall is about to go down (not when it's already down). In the open area, time your jumps to the magicians again. Free the 2nd dragon and work your way up to the top on the right. You can hear the little blue thief but you can't see him. Straight ahead is a pit with 2 orange bears and more spell-binders. Off to the right is a lower chamber with 2 more bears. In there, is a blue jewel case with an extra life. Climb up to the RETURN HOME vortex and the 3rd dragon.

Alpine Ridge 2 From here, to the left is a small arch. You can see the entrance to the level down below. You can go there after with a long glide. BUT NOT NOW!! Go to the edge of the upper ledge and glide to the balcony opening over there on the right [see photo]. Note the 3 island pedestals with the fireworks baskets. The baskets will explode and knock you off the pedestal if you stay there. You have to flame, then QUICKLY glide to the next pedestal before it explodes. Then glide back and collect the gems. If you mis-time the jump, you fall into the clouds below. Free the last dragon.

Chase down the blue thief, clean-out the upper walkway. Now return to get the fireworks baskets one at a time. SAVE GAME HERE FIRST. There is a good chance you'll fall, trying to do a blind backward camera glide back to a safe pedestal once you flame a basket. Go back to the RETURN HOME vortex area and glide through the arch down to the original level entrance. Work your way back up to where the 1st dragon was and climb the left stairs. Perch Spyro on the wall ledge and turn around.

Alpine Ridge 3 From here, glide over to the open area left of the castle. The big blue wizards have a nasty blue lightning bolt that they fire at you from point blank range. Flame them quickly. To the left is a set of moving block stairs. Jump quickly up to the top DON'T STOP. Take out the 3 magicians at the top. Once you have all the gems, glide back across to the island, and backtrack to the RETURN HOME vortex. Along the way, you may want to check Sparx and recharge him with some stray "food".

There are 4 dragons to free in this level. Their wisdom is as follows:

ZANE = Tells Spyro not to be afraid of those big beasts
ELDRID = Has nothing to say other than Thank-you for releasing him.
ZANDER = Rewards Spyro with words of encouragement for doing so well.
KELVIN = Reminds Spyro about the little blue thief and the dragon eggs.
