Annihilation Nation


The Annihilation Nation challenges have been broken up into 2 distinct pages. The reason?? because THERE ARE SO MANY!! This page addresses only those in the Gladiator Arena. The other page focuses on the Canyon Obstacle Courses.

Annihilation Nation 1 Grand Prize Bout 1:

Face all your friends from the previous games and more! 10 rounds of mayheim. You can use all your weapons. The Nitro Launcher and N70 Storm are good choices. Gladiators with swords and armor, robots with heat seekers and some with rotating grinder balls for arms, and of course don't forget the hovering sentries that like to stalk closely, with spinning blades. Survive the onslaught = 2,000 bolts + Tyhrra-guise.

NOTE: Make a special note to remember Courtney Gears (sounds like Britney Spears?). She's going to play an important part as we go deeper into the adventure.

Annihilation Nation 2 Practice Challenge:

Exactly the same as the Grand Prize Bout except for bolts! 10 rounds of mayheim. You can use all your weapons. The Nitro Launcher and N70 Storm are good choices. Gladiators with swords and armor, robots with heat seekers and some with rotating grinder balls for arms, and of course don't forget the hovering sentries that like to stock close, with spinning blades. Survive the onslaught = 1,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 3 Robot Rampage:

A little tougher than the practice challenge. 12 rounds this time and to make things interesting, the floor has electrified traps, flame jets, that come out of the center ring, and flying turrets that come out in the later rounds. Watch your health closely, and use the Inferno power-up when the crate pops-up in a later round. It'll go a long way to avoid injury from the flying turret ball. Survive the onslaught = 6,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 3 Whip It Good:

Very very tough! 6 rounds using just the Plasma Whip. Not that this is hard enough, but there are NO AMMO CRATES to reload. Ratchet has just 30 ammo. Best advice is to use the ammo wisely and to let some of the gladiators take each other out by their own stupidity. If you use too many whips in the early rounds, you'll run out and lose. Survive the onslaught = 3,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 2 90 Seconds Of Carnage

First of the time limit challenges. 6 rounds of mayheim in under 1:30 or 90 seconds. Not that difficult a challenge but much better if you have come back later in the game and have more weapons like the Mini Rocket Tube or the Glove Of Doom. You can do this with conventional blaster-type weapons, but ammo may be a problem. Survive the time limit = 3,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 9 The Terrible Two

Fight the 2 Mega Gladiators - Gary & Helen. Remind you of Swingblade or B2 Brawler? 1 round of beat-em-up. Helen has nasty plasma shock waves that she stomps on the arena ring from time to time. Gary has mini-rockets that he fires in clusters and a plasma beam that sweep across the ring. Dodge both by hopping in mid-air. Beat them into submission = 4,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 1 Hydra 'N Seek

Another very tough limited weapon challenge... 4 rounds using just the Spitting Hydra. To make matters really bad, Ratchet only has 15 ammo. This requires clear enemy destruction strategy. You only have 4 ammo per round, so it's a must that you have to let the enemies in each round kill each other, til only 2 or 3 are left to electricute. Survive the onslaught = 3,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 2 Onslaught

2nd round of the time-limit challenge. 9 round in under 2 minutes. Use everything you got including the N70 Storm and Plasma Whip. The idea is quantity not quality! Work fast and wait by the garage doors as they open from round to round. Don't worry about going out of your way collecting ammo crates. Shoot up the place while you reload. Survive the time limit = 4,000 bolts.

Satrship Phoenix 4

NOTE: More Gladiator Arena challenges open up, the deeper you get into the game. There are some challenges that will require more sophisticated and powerful weapons. The good news is.. THE MORE YOU PLAY, THE MORE YOUR WEAPONS GET UPGRADED.

Annihilation Nation 9 Two Minute Warning

2nd round with the Mega twins, Gary & Helen one round in under 2 minutes. Use your most powerful weapon you have. My choice was the Devastator. It works quickly, and pound for pound, it packs the most punch for your ammo. Avoid Helen's plasma shock waves, and run like mad before Gary's barage of overhead missles peppers the arena, after he gets angry... Beat them into submission = 5,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 2 Chop Chop

Another tough limited weapon challenge. This time 4 rounds using just the Disc Blade. There are NO AMMO CRATES so we're restricted to 25 ammo. The enemies are a little tougher, now including ninja fighters that like to jump around and don't stand still. Be careful to aim, lock-on and shoot quickly. Let some enemies take each other out. Survive the onslaught = 8,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 10 Scorpio

A one-on-one battle with a sinister Scorpion Tank. This guy has a mean saw blade that he unleashes once every 2-3 seconds that turns at high speed to target Ratchet, where-ever he's standing. Jump out of the way at the last minute. Use the Shield Charger + Devastator ? Much easier if you've upgraded to the LV5 Decimator. Beat the tank into submission = 10,000 bolts.

Skill Point: Bash The Bug. Beat Scorpio using just the OmniWrench and no shields.

Annihilation Nation 11 The Other White Meat

Another limited weapon challenge. This time 6 rounds with just the Qwack-O-Ray. The place will be littered with ducks. The higher the level of the Qwack-o-ray the better. I went in at LV3. It will turn all your enemies including ninjas, into ducks rather quickly and effortlessly. Too many ducks and they start to explode. Keep at it til the dust clears. Buy the Duck Farm = 8,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 9 Dodge the Twins

Another meeting with the Mega Gladiators, Gary & Helen. This time, Ratchet has to stay squeaky clean and make it thru with no injury, not even a scratch. NO SHIELD CHARGER!! (even if you have it). You have to do this commando style. Use the Devastator and make quick work of them while they're standing still. Don't let up. Beat them into submission = 6,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 5 Cycling Weapons

16 rounds of mayheim and the announcer picks your weapon. You have no choice on the reload and they're are NO AMMO CRATES!! The game seems to be restricted to just what's in you're first Quick Select pinwheel. Deal with the enemies as they come up and listen to the announcer as he warns you of an upcoming switch. NO SHIELD CHARGER in play. Beat them into submission = 10,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 12 Sleep Inducer

Another limited weapon challenge. 4 rounds with just the Rift Inducer. If you can upgrade to LV5 Rift Ripper, all the easier. Only 12 ammo and NO AMMO CRATES. To make things interesting, Lombax Snooze Mist is introduced. Use 2-3 rifts per round maximum, and stand by a black hole as your enemies get sucked in. Nothing to it. Suck them into oblivion = 8,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 1 Counting Ducks

6 long rounds with Lombax Snooze Mist (sleeping gas). Ratchet's health meter will tick away as he battles every round. Use your best weapons like the MegaTurret Glove + Decimator + N90 Hurricane. The object is to get thru the rounds quickly and with as little injury as possible, or your health will go away much faster? Do your battle and don't fall asleep = 8,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 3 One Hit Wonder

A very tough challenge!! 8 rounds without a scratch! NO SHIELD CHARGER ALLOWED #@%! Use your best defensive weapons, like the Rift Ripper + Mega Turret + Agents of Doom. I would keep the Plasma Whip loaded for sneak attacks from hovering blade balls. Watch-out for electrified sections of the arena. Survive the onslaught without a scratch = 10,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 10 Naptime

Another face-to-face battle with the Scorpion Tank + Lombax Snooze Mist to make things interesting. You should have the Shield Charger + Devastator or Decimator. Don't attempt this until you have at least 50 health points because any injury from the tank, will only compound your situation with the sleeping gas. Beat the scorpion without falling asleep = 15,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 4 Championship Bout 2

24 rounds of pure robot evil. They'll throw everything at you, including a few rounds with the turret cannon, 2-3 rounds with Lombax Snooze Mist, a couple of rounds with cycling weapons you can't control and a showdown with Gary & Helen. The good news is the Inferno Power-up Crate and AMMO CRATES! Use all your favorite weapons. Enjoy!! Survive the carnage = 25,000 bolts.

Annihilation Nation 12 Qwarktastic Battle

The ULTIMATE COMMANDO!! 100 (yes 100) rounds of chaos. I wouldn't do this with nothing short of 100 health points and a huge arsenal of weapons. You're going to need Shield Charger + Rift Ripper + Decimator + Agents of Dread + N90 Hurricane just to survive. Everything will be thrown at you. Scorpio, cycling weapons, turret cannons, Gary & Helen, Snooze Mist + timer rounds. Survive the carnage = 200,000 bolts.
