After saving his home planet from the Thyrranoid invasion, Ratchet & Clank fly to Planet Florana to investigate the disappearance of a famous fugitive. Commander Sasha needs him captured and returned to the Starship Phoenix.
Florana is a jungle planet with tall trees and lots of lagoons. Navigation in the forest is restricted to just bridges, floating docks and sliding down vines. Our trusted supply store the Gadgetron Kiosk, is right nearby. Load up with all the ammo you can. Load the Shock Blaster. Jump cross the floating wooden docks (avoid the water) and peg the swarming bees as they see you and approach. Inside the first domed shelter, take down all the rest of the bees and whack the nearby crates.
Walk up the bridge and to the left. DON'T GO RIGHT JUST YET! You'll wake the local natives. On the left bridge, Ratchet can whack the small lights for lots of bolts. At the end of the bridge is a large storage building. Nearby is a new yellow crate. This is a Bolt Multiplier Crate. Once you whack it, for a limited time, any bolts you acquire, will have double point value. Whack the crate and quickly go inside the storage building. Collect the motherlode! Keep collecting til the timer quits.
Once done, run back to the Gagdetron Kiosk and buy the N60 Storm. You should have enough bolts to buy it. Trust me! It will make life alot easier. OK... Run back across the docks and this time go down the ramp to the right. 3 local natives slide down from overhead vines and jump down to the platform. Load the N60 Storm. Fire away at the natives. Be careful of the metal boomerangs they toss at you. They inflict heavy damage and are hard to see. Jump to the next platform.
Another native comes down to greet you. Take him down quickly. Off in the lagoon, a large octopus serpent reers its ugly head out of the water. The auto target-ring of the N60 Storm will light-up on the neck of the serpent. Blast away quickly. He spits out a dangerous swamp gas ball that explodes, if you let him live for longer than a couple of seconds. Jump to the entrance to the building. More natives come running out to attack. Take em all down and enter the building.
Whack all the nearby crates and sculptures along the walls for lots of bolts and a Nanotech health cube. Watch for the native way at the end of the hallway. He is hard to see in the dim light, and his boomerang will hit you from a distance. Clean-out the area and jump over the waterfalls. Heli-jump up the blocks to the upper level. To the left and around the back, are more crates and sculptures. Even the tall windows give up bolts. Turn around and look down the room.
Up ahead you can barely make-out 4 more natives standing guard. Heli-jump across the gap in the floor and open up with the N60 Storm. The auto-aim target ring will help you find them. Fire away. Watch for more natives to swing in from vines through the windows, at the end of the room. Once the coast is clear, collect all the nearby bolts, and look for the pipes on the right wall. This is a climbable ladder. Use [X] and jump up the rungs of the ladder to the top.
Up top is a look-out balcony. More natives are guarding the area. Auto-lock the target ring and peg them from the ladder, before they see you. If you want, you can also use the [L1] Zoom to see them up close with the target ring. Walk out to the balcony and clean-up all the crates and sculptures. Off the end of the balcony is a small wooden platform ledge. Take a second to look around. The view from here is amazing. The graphics are really quite stunning and realistic.
Walk out to the end of the ledge and look down. The path continues down below and a native is waiting. You can also see a ring moving in the water. Another octopus serpent is waiting as well. Heli-glide down to the bridge and fire away on the native as soon as you land. Walk to the end. Wait for the serpent to rise up out of the water, then peg him in the neck with 5-6 good shots from the N60 Storm. Before jumping to the next building, turn 180 back towards the look-out.
There's another look-out balcony below where we were. Jump across the floating docks, climb up the ladder
and look what we have here? Our first titanium bolt. Titanium bolts are one of the prized possessions of this game and can be used to buy special things like SKINS and CHEAT CODES. Grab the bolt, clean-out the crates, jump back down to the bridge and work your way to the next building entrance. To the left is another new yellow crate. This is the Inferno Power-up Crate.
The Inferno power-up is a timed invincibility shield where Ratchet is surrounded by fire. No weapons can be used other than your trusty Omniwrench, but for the most part, you're shielded from any enemy. This power-up is on a timer, so make good use of the extra power. Whack the Inferno crate and enter the building. The doors will close behind you and the floor closes up like a draw-bridge. We are now in a mini-arena battle with several natives. Make them pay with fire!
After all the natives are gone, the draw bridge at the other end of the arena opens up. More natives come running out. Load the N60 Storm and peg em. At the end, there's a set of narrow walls. Bounce up the walls. About halfway up, Ratchet can grab a pipe ladder on the right. Climb up the rest of the way. On top, turn around and face the other way. There's another look-out balcony on the far side of the bounce walls. Jump across to the look-out and clean-out the crates.
If you were paying attention, when we were at the last look-out, high above the lagoon, you would have noticed another look-out terrace on this building. You would also have seen a sparkly shiny thing hovering. Let's go get it! From the edge of the terrace, walk along the ledge to the left. Heli-jump over the pillar on the roof and land in the other terrace. Go up and grab the Ratchet Trophy. These are extra-special awards for gaming achievements and will come in handy.
From here, Ratchet has 2 choices. Either heli-glide down to the path and run back through the building and bounce up the walls, or walk back along the roof ledge across to the first look-out terrace then jump across the bounce wall gap to the new look-out terrace. Just inside the last look-out, there are more native guards standing watch. Take em all down with the N60 Storm. Whack all the nearby crates and sculptures then load up with ammo at the Gadgetron Kiosk.
You may want to buy the Plasma Whip right now, if you have enough bolts. You definitely want it very soon. Go to the wooden platform ledge at the end of the terrace and hit [X]. Ratchet will jump to the vine and with his wrench, slide down to the lagoon area off in the distance. Very cool effect and great scenery on the way. Get ready for a major fight! Ratchet has a NEW Rapid-load System for weapons. Tapping [triangle] 2-3 times, will bring up the last weapons you used.
Once Ratchet lands on the circular wooden dock, load the Plasma Whip. Fire the whip a couple of times to vaporize the swarm of bees. Very quickly rapid-load the N60 Storm and peg the octopus serpent that is rising out from the lagoon. Reload the Plasma Whip and clean-out the second wooden platform. Climb the pipe ladder and clean-out the upper platform. Grab the nearby Nanotech health cube and then jump and slide down the vine. [Movie sequence begins].

Ratchet is confronted by a monkey that clings to the back of Clank. This is Scrunch. Animal friend of the mysterious man. He is wearing a voodoo jungle mask but somehow doesn't look and act all that mysterious? He seems familiar. It sure looks like Qwark. He orders Ratchet into the PATH OF DEATH. MISSION COMPLETE.
