After completing the 4th vid comic back on the Phoenix, Roboshack Al has downloaded co-ordinates to Metropolis.
Nefarious is lurking around here somehwere?
As Ratchet leaves his ship, he's immediately confronted with a small problem. Down the steps to the first platform, the place is over-run with baby noids. Load the Rift Ripper and fire one grenade into the middle of the platform. The baby Noids will ALL get sucked into the black hole. Before leaving the docking platform, give your new Bolt Grabber V2 a work-out, and slam all the light posts for lots of bolts. Load up with ammo at the convenient Gadgetron Kiosk.
Before moving into the city, let's do some target practice. Hovering around the city, is a small flying blimp.
Skill Point: 2002 Was A Good-Year in The City.... To get the blimp, load the Flux Rifle. Zoom-in on sniper mode and wait for the blimp to fly by the clock tower. As it flies by, take down the balloon. WOOHOO! It goes down in flames.
Walk across the bridge to the first building. Watch-out for robo-noids that run out from behind the entrance. Load the Rift Ripper and toss a grenade just past them into the middle of the room. Not only will the black-hole suck in the robo-noids, but it will have enough juice to suck in all the baby noids and 2 giant robo-noids that fly in from the other end of the building. Be careful to dodge the noid gunfire while waiting for the black-hole to do it's thing. Go to the left window.
Use your trusty wrench and slam the floor. The large window breaks. Heli-jump up to the ledge. Jump across the gap to the next building. Inside are more baby noids. Load the Rift Ripper and toss a grenade into the middle of the building. All the baby noids will get sucked in. 2 giant flying robo-noids fly in through the other archways and will also get sucked into the black hole. To the left, another big window. Slam your wrench into the ground to break the glass. Up top a surprise!
Out on the balcony is a teleport pad. There's a good chance that when you walk over the pad, it will be out of order?. This is a secret entrance to the Insomniac Museum. The teleport only works when the clock tower is between 3:00 and 4:00.
Back on the main floor of the building, look to the left to the next building. Off in the distance is a familiar glow. Load the Hypershot. Find the versa-target and tarzan-swing across the gap then glide down to the building. Grab the titanium bolt. Use the Hypershot to swing back to the last building, then back-track to the very first building where we came in. You may want to load up on ammo crates first. Even better, go back out to the Gadgetron Kiosk and re-load your supplies.
Walk out the first building archway to the bridge that curves to the right to a set of steps. As you walk out, a noid combat drop-ship hovers up from below the bridge, and starts to fire 2 plasma machine guns. Run back into the building and duck for cover. Load the Holo-Shield and generate a shield right in the archway. Run behind the shield and load the Annihilator. The ship will still be firing at you, but the shield will stop any injury. Fire 2-3 missles and the ship explodes.
Up the steps to the right, another building full of noids. Load the Rift Ripper, quickly run up the stairs and fire 2 grenades into the building. Let the black-holes suck in all the surrounding enemies. I found that 2 worked better then 1, when trying to suck in the larger, more deadly, robo-noids. Many before they had a chance to fire too many shots. Go inside the building and clean-out the crates. Use your Bolt Grabber V2 wrench smash, to assist. It will also help blow-out the windows.
Don't go into the next open courtyard section with the baracades, just yet. That Gadgetron Kiosk gives you an idea that you're going to be up against a bad fire-fight. First, heli-jump up to the window. One window is of particular interest. Out in the balcony grab the coveted Srcunch Trophy, It will be on display in your room back at the Phoenix. Before moving on to the baracade courtyard, load up will all your goodies at the Kiosk. Load the Mega-Turret.
Run into the courtyard, to the last set of baracades, and toss 3 missles turret spikes into the middle of the grassy area close to the alley. Quickly run back to the building by the Gadgetron Kiosk, even while under enemy attack. Load the Agents Of Doom, deploy your hover security and run for cover behind a baracade. Now load the Annihilator. While the micro-bots and turret missles destroy the nearby noids, clean-out the stragglers with a few shots from the Annihilator.
The area will be clear of noids and the coutryard is quiet? WRONG! A large combat hover tank comes out from the alley and starts firing rockets on Ratchet. Run back into the building and hide. You can only take 2-3 direct hits. Let the turrets do their thing and pound away at the tank with missles. Hopefully, you'll hear the tank explode. If you want insurance, load the Holo-Shield and deploy a shield at the archway. You can make sure the tank explodes. If the turret missles burn-out and the tank is still alive, use the Annihilator from behind the shield, and finish him off.
Down the alley, more noids are patrolling up top inside another building. It's hard to get a fix on them, because you can just see their heads. Load the Flux Rifle or Annihilator. Go into snipe mode, and zoom-in on the noids, even if all you see is their heads. When you get a clear shot, or when the target turns red, fire! You should be able to get most of them. If not, heli-glide up the wall, grab the edge, and pull up to the floor of the building. Load the Annihilator and peg 'em all.
Don't bother with the window balconies here, there's nothing of value. To the left, is a lower street area, guarded by large noids at the end. Load the Mega-turret. Look for your target ring down on the street. Toss 2-3 turret spikes way down to the street junction. As the turret missles start to fire, the noids scramble and start to fire on Ratchet up on the platform. Run down the gravity ramp and hide behind a baracade. Load the Annihilator and take down any stray noids.
Down the next long street, more problems. Load the Rift Ripper. As Ratchet walks down the street, a beam of sunlight shines on the street and 2 huge hover security noids come down to block your way. They have the nasty green plasma guns. Fire a grenade between them. The noids will struggle frantically, but the black-hole will have just enough power to suck them in. Walk to the end the street. More baby noids and robo-noids attack. Fire another rift grenade to suck them in.
INSURANCE: In the photo above, note that I have deployed a group of Agents Of Doom hover security micro-bots just in case there are any surprises. I was heavily injured here and didn't survive. RESTART CONTINUE POINT IS AT THE LAST KIOSK.
As you walk out to the grassy terrace at the end of the street, another attack drop-ship and 2 huge security noids, hover up from below the terrace wall. Run back to the street and quickly load the Holo-Shield and generate a shield. Facing the trio, load the Annihilator and from behind the shield, peg all three of them. Should take about 4-5 missles. The area is finally clear... Before moving on to the left, walk to your right to the edge of the terrace.
There is small ledge running along the oustide of the building. Jump to the ledge. Hop up to the next ledge and walk around the corner. At the end of this ledge, on an upper ledge, is that familiar glow of a titanium bolt. I couldn't have got this bolt without the assistance of my friends in the gaming community. This would have been next to impossible for me to find on my own. Thank you!
Back on the grassy terrace, walk down to the gap between the buildings. 2 attack drop-ships rise up from behind the terrace and start to fire. No time to react. Load the Annihilator go into zoom mode, point your target ring up to the drop-ships and fire 2 missles at each one. You'll take a hit, but they'll be destroyed. Walk across the gravity ramps with your Annihilator still loaded. Watch for the ambush of several different noids as you walk across to the next grassy area.
Hopefully you're healthy to carry-out the next task. There are 3 Nanotech health cubes nearby. Once this area is clear of noids, go to the floor crank bolt. With your wrench, turn the bolt and move the reflector dish past the wall. Once the bolt locks, load the Refractor. Go to the laser beam and re-direct the beam into the reflector dish you just moved. The beam will now shine down the wall towards the bridge. Go the end of the wall and re-direct the beam into the building.
Connecting the laser beam now activates a bridge over to a circular island platform. Load the Rift Ripper. Walk across the bridge and fire a rift grenade at the 2 noids standing guard. If the baby noids aren't sucked in as well, whack them with your wrench. Walk to the end of the platform. [Movie sequence begins]. Nefarious and Lawrence are on a docked hover train and welcome you to his party. He says hello to your robot companion, Klunk. WHAT THE ??? THIS ISN'T CLANK???
Klunk has been in fact spying for Nefarious while Clank has been held hostage. Seems he's been captured since their visit to Holostar Studios when Clank ran into Courtney Gears... That would explain all his weird behaviour lately? OK. So now Nefarious is enjoying the fact that he is going to watch Ratchet die right here, right now.. Klunk transforms into an Ultra Mech and the big boss battle on the train, begins...
