Qwark's Hideout

Qwark's Hideout 1 As Ratchet leaves his shuttle, the first thing you notice is it's snowing! A winter wonderland. Nearby is a Gadgetron Kiosk. Load up with all your goodies before going anywhere. The first mission is to explore the back areas of the planet. Walk up the stairs around the back of the shuttle. Whack all the stacks of crates along the way. Walk through the narrow walls of ice to the cave with the metal funnel in the floor. Ratchet's gravity boots will take over as you walk inside.

Qwark's Hideout 2 Load the Rift Ripper. As you walk down the metal pipe, sweep-bots ambush you from all angles. Fire one rift grenade to the middle of the pipe and suck-in all the bots. This will clear this section of pipe. At the end of the pipe, we enter a huge ice chasm connected by metal catwalks that twist up and around the center. Each section of catwalk has electrified beams that cycle between fixed points along the edges of the catwalk. The trick is to avoid injury by jumping over them.

Qwark's Hideout 3 Keep an eye out for a small round platform in the ice lake. If you look closely, you'll see the glow of a titanium bolt floating on that small platform. We can't get to it just yet, but we will shortly. Let your gravity boots guide you up and around the maze of ramps. Use the camera to look down at the end of every ramp section, to find your orientation to that platform with the titanium bolt. When you are directly above it, jump off the ramp and heli-glide down to the platform. The teleport pad will warp you back to the ramp after.

WATCH-OUT: Just as a reminder, should Ratchet miss the platform and land in the lake, you freeze to an ice-cube immediately. You'll start back at the shuttle.

Qwark's Hideout 4 Walk up the ramps until you reach the pipe tunnel filled with snow. As you walk in, snow ninjas jump out from under the snow and start to attack. Load the Annihilator and fire one missle at each gnome. This may seem like overkill, but there are Qwark robots lurking behind baracades and they require some heavy duty firepower. You can also quick-load the Quantum Whip (LV5 Plasma Whip) to zap the gnomes, then quick-change to the Annihilator as you approach the Qwark robots.

Qwark's Hideout 5 The Qwark training robots ARE TOUGH TO KILL and need 3 Annihilator missles each, to take down. Be careful. They fire plasma bullets that are fast and deadly. Navigate through the electrical iris forcefields and whack all the gnomes that try to ambush Ratchet. At the end of the tunnel, walk up the next set of ramps with tougher electrical beam traps. At the end of the second ramp set, another pipe tunnel with tougher security and more Qwark robots. The plan is to stay healthy and alive!

Qwark's Hideout 6 The 3rd set of gravity ramps has laser turrets that have to be taken out. Load the Refractor. Not only will the temporary bubble shield of the Refractor save your health, you can point and reflect the laser beam back to the turret and destroy it with no ammo! Walk through the last pipe tunnel with the maze of iris forcefields. There is almost no way to avoid being injured passing through these security defenses, even with the Refractor, but the object is to stay alive.

Qwark's Hideout 7 At the end of the pipe tunnel, Ratchet enters a small cave with a set of steps. Along the back wall is a small locked cabinet. Inside that cabinet, a few Gadgetron goodies on display. This must be Qwark's personal stash because who else would want a Crochetizer? Buy the PDA for 250,000 bolts. Now we have portable access to buy ammo when we're in a jam. Remember that the PDA prices for ammo are 5 times the normal kiosk price. Take the teleport pad back to your ship.
