The first episode of Captain Qwark's video comic collection is titled Pirate Booty! This video cartridge was obtained from Roboshack Al after completing the Refractor mission on Marcadia. Games are played in the living quarters on Starship Phoenix.

These video comics are a throwback to the classic 2D platform games of the 90's. In this adventure, we play Captain Qwark trapped on a pirate ship. The object of the game is to get to the end, and collect all 100 Qwark tokens. Along the way, we see lots of enemies like pirates with swords and ghost-like energy orbs that dance around the platforms. Qwark has basic moves likes punching and jumping. No weapons are available at the start but will be awarded soon enough.

Blue Qwark tokens count for 1 point, and red Qwark tokens count for 10. Red tokens are a little harder to find and require you to look a little harder. Some platforms will melt away as Qwark jumps on them. They do re-materialize after a few seconds. The secret to 2D gaming is to clean-out every area before you advance. The first red token is at the top of the first set of jump platforms. It's above the passage that continues to the right. Collect it first before you move on.

Farther into the pirate ship, Qwark gets a blast gun. This comes in handy when the skeletons start throwing fireballs. Be careful with your ammo. You only get 20 shots per power-up and they are few and far between. There's another red token at the very top of the second set of climbing platforms. Watch-out for all the fireballs and pirates. Watch your health. Should Qwark die, he starts at the last continue point which is usually not that far away from where you die.

Every classic platform game has a final battle sequence. This is no different. In the final arena, Qwark battles a sinister centipede snake. As the snake winds across from left to right to left, aim the gun upwards and blast away at the skeleton of the snake. The snake's health meter is on the lower right of your screen. After each sequence, another blast gun will fall from the ceiling that Qwark can jump up and grab. Best defense is to avoid the snake by firing up from the floor.

Defeat the snake, win the game. If you win the game and have 100 tokens, Ratchet will be awarded a titanium bolt. Depending on the time to complete the game, Ratchet will be awarded bolts (as many as 20,000). At the end of the game [movie sequence begins]. The announcer guy tells the story of Qwark's rise to fame defeating evil once again. But.. Dr. Nefarious is still on the loose and Qwark's new quest is to hunt him down..
