Outpost X12

To get to Part 3, Ratchet has to complete Part 2 which was flying around in the hovership protecting the Rangers in their forward outpost in Red Rock Valley.

Operation Death Valley Part 3: Assassination

outpost X12 6 We now know that the Tyhrranoid invasion forces on Outpost X12 are led by several 4-eyed alien commanders. Our mission is to find and eliminate all 6 of the 4-eyed noids to disrupt the enemy's command and control over the valley. They are heavily protected by noid security forces so taking down the commandor will have to be your first priority. We have the use of the dune buggy to drive around. The auto-aim on the mounted guns is not good so don't rely on them.

Skill Point: Go For Hang Time. When you get a moment, race the turbo-slider up the ramps on the right side of the valley. If you get a perfect launch, try to stay in the air for 2 seconds or more for the skill point.

outpost X12 7 The commanders of each squad are obvious, because they like to hover, and they have a massive plasma cannon in their right hand. Load the Flux Rifle. If you go into sniper mode, you can peg the commander before he even knows you're in the neighborhood. After the commander in each area is gone, load the Annihilator or Rift Ripper and clean-out all the noids behind the baracades and the robo-noids patrolling the nearby bridges and paths. Drive to the next area.

outpost X12 8 The main battle is over the bridge on the far islands. It's baracaded at both ends. To make things worse, once you cross the bridge, several flying saucers fly up and line-up along the bridge. YIKES!! Load the Rift Ripper and fire 1 grenade to the left and 1 to the right. Hopefully you can suck most of the flying saucers out. Watch-out for the commander lurking just behind the bridge rails. load the Flux Rifle, go into sniper mode, zoom-in, and destroy him fast, before he guns down the baracade where you're taking cover.

outpost X12 9 The next commander is on top of the building platform. Take him down with the Flux Rifle. Go across the far bridge to the other end of the valley. Load the Annihilator and peg all the noids hunched behind the baracades. Your target ring will find them. By the tower, load the Rift Ripper. Fire one grenade between the 2 baracades, then fire another grenade to the platforms on the tower. This should suck-in most enemies in the area. Jump to the platform, collect the goodies.

The noid commander is hiding in the lower area behind the tower. You can't quite see him from the platforms. Load the Mega-turret and toss 2 spikes down to the ground. You can hear the missles engage. Toss another spike on the platform you're on, and take down the robo-noid that's running to attack you. Load the Annihilator, and wait for the turrets to stop. Now jump down to the ground, and from behind in a surprise attack, peg all the noids, looking the other way.

outpost X12 10 Walk to the last bridge by the canyon and the island where the Rangers were stationed before. Load the Flux Rifle and from a safe distance, go into sniper mode and peg the hovering commander first. Load the Annihilator and peg all the flying saucers and robo-noids on the bridge. As another option, you can walk up to the end of the ramp and peg all the enemy noids from overhead, using sniper mode with the Annihilator. Successful completion = 25,000 bolts. NO REPEAT TRY.
