NOTE: Collecting all 101 sewer crystals is a HUGE UNDERTAKING! It will take hours upon hours to navigate your way through all the sewer pipes, junction points and mutliple levels. Some hidden areas won't open up til we have the Map-O-Matic.

Hope you're not claustrophobic or sqeamish of confined spaces? This place is MASSIVE and there's no relief. You'll get lost and will lose your bearing really quick. Consult your map [Select] often, to get a current position. From a reference point, this area is MUCH larger than the open Tabora desert in Going Commando. OK. Walk into the sewer pipe network. You basically only have one enemy... the Ameboids... But there are lots of them and Grandpa Ameboid has lots of relatives?
The place looks dirty but the lighting is ok. Most of the time, Ratchet will be wading through ankle-deep sewage. This does become a problem for some weapons. The Mini-turret Glove will not throw spikes into the water. Also, if you're coming back after getting a few more wepaons, the Glove of Doom micro-bots will not work in the water either. The key is to keep your eyes and ears open for Ameboids. They pop-out from nowhere. Load the N90 Hurricane. It will be your best friend.

This is the prize, a sewer crystal. Go up and whack the rock holding it in place. In the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, you'll see your crystal count. Collect enough and go back to the Plumber to exchange for bolts. It's one thing to collect the crystals, but it's another thing to WALK ALL THE WAY BACK to exchange collected crystals with the Plumber. It's almost as hard just to find your way back? The trick is not to have to go back too many times. Watch for ambushes.

We know what that big green plug is? Grandpa Ameboid taking a nap. He won't wake up until you're dangerously close to him. In most cases, Ratchet will have to run back to avoid his slime balls. Load the N90 Hurricane and blast him with 10 shots. He'll explode leaving you another sewer crystal. There are lots of plugs and Grandpa Ameboids in the sewer pipes. More than I like? At most junction points there are ammo crates and Nanotech health cubes to load-up on.

After hunting down crystals for awhile, Ratchet comes across sloped pipes and an open exit to the long cave where the sewage river is. The cave is connected with several bridges. If you look down the river you'll see how many there are? And some of them are on different levels. Some connecting bridges have teleport pads that will warp you from section to section. It beats walking!! Several of the tunnels are not accessible because Ratchet just can't climb the slope. We'll be back.

After being able to collect only 35-40 crystals and getting frustrated, I returned with a heavy gun arsenal after almost
completing the game. Essential gear would include Gravity Boots + Shield Charger + Map-O-Matic + Devastator. Using the map [Select], I could now see where all the remaining sewer crystals were located and had a better idea where to go. In addition, the Map-O-Matic opened up huge new hidden areas only accessible with the help of Gravity Boots.
The entire sewer network is metal pipe. Knowing this, Ratchet can walk literally anywhere with his clunky Gravity Boots. It becomes obvious that walking can be trickey and very disorienting especially going up walls, around bends or through pipe shafts up to other levels. There are times you will feel motion sickness. RULE OF THUMB: The running lights on the sewer pipes are always on the ceiling and sewage is always at the bottom. Time to explore the new areas.
On the far side of the river cave past the bridges, some of the sewer network has no running sewage. You're guide will
be the running lights of the pipe to keep you walking straight. There are twists and turns and blocked passageways. There are also 2-3 Gadgetron Kiosks at pipe junction points, where you can load up on everything you need. Usually, there are lots of Nanotech health cubes nearby, so your only challenge is finding the time to do this.
After wandering through the sewers for a few hours, the network map [Select] will become your best friend. Not only does it show you where you can find the nearest Gadgetron Kiosk [marked by a G], but it shows you all the locations of the remaining crystals and where you are in relation to them. It also shows which pipes you've been down, and where you still have to explore.

Down one of the pipes in the back sections of the maze, I stumbled across a titanium bolt !! What a nice surprize? There is no mention of this in the network map, this was just by chance. I can't even tell you where it is. I just happened to come across it while exploring. According to my calculations, there should be 2 titanium bolts in the sewers somewhere. We already have 3 from the other missions on this planet.
The second bolt was a little harder to find but stumbled across it while exploring the very back of the sewers. If you take the bridge teleport pad and warp to the last bridge, you'll see a set of overhead versa-targets over the cave. Load the Hypershot. Tarzan swing across the cave. The titanium bolt is floating in mid-air. After grabbing the bolt, heli-glide down to the next bridge and continue collecting crystals. If not, fall in the water, and let the current take you to the end.

After an exhaustive search of the sewers, Ratchet will have finally collected all 101 sewer crystals. Doing this will get the Skill Point: Hit The Motherlode. Not to mention the fact that you got an additional 200,000+ bolts along the way. I was able to upgrade alot of different weapons all the way to LV5 including the Agents Of Dread. These nano-bots not only fly and shoot missles, but when done, they explode into mini-nukes. Gotta love it!! MISSION FINALLY COMPLETE!
