Kreeli 15 After the teleport pad, Ratchet enters the Pirate Spacedock. The area is full of parked pirate ships, and unfortunately lots of hidden cannon turrets. Keep the Alpha Disruptor loaded. Walk down the path and look to your left. Hopefully you'll see the turret BEFORE the pirate starts to open fire. Take him down quickly. The cannon turret on the right is unavoidable. He'll start to fire as soon as you take out the first turret. Load the Alpha Disruptor and fire 2 blasts.

ALTERNATE STRATEGY: If you're going for skill points, wait for the shielded commandos to come up the path, then walk into the group and toss a Groovitron Orb. Once the commandos are dancing, man a turret and shoot them. If you nail 10 dancing pirates, you earn Skill Point 30: Mow Down Hoedown (10 pts).

Kreeli 16 If he doesn't stop, or you misfire, load Fusion Bombs and toss a few his way. Once he's done, mount the turret and blast all the shielded pirates that come up the path to investigate. In the next area, I chose a preemptive strike. Load the Tornado Launcher and carefully steer the vortex down to the next area using the six axis controller. It worked amazingly well at sucking up the pirates close to the hidden turret.

Kreeli 17 Walk down to the open area uncontested and collect everything in sight. Don't forget to whack all the icicle crystals. Go to the bolt crank in the ground by the corner. Load Mr.Zurkon to cover your back while you turn the bolt crank. You'll be glad you did, because as you turn the crank, an electrified pirate sentry attacks from one of the pirate ships. Mr.Zurkon takes cares of business. Cross over the new connecting bridge. Get ready for another Demolition Mech boss fight.

Kreeli 18 The Pirate Demolition Mech is hanging from an overhead cable. He's in the process of trying to chip away at the IRIS Super computer. Ratchet obviously disturbs him. Because he's hanging above the ground, we need an aerial weapon. Load the Raptor Launcher and fire multiple rounds at him until he explodes. The DUAL TARGETTING UPGRADE will help here alot! Once done, collect all his raritanium. Clank's Geo-Laser beacon will start to flash. Look for the sweet spot.

Kreeli 19 Use the six axis controller and cut a zig-zag path in the large ice outcrop. Don't loose track of the (X) target points and carve in a slow and steady pattern until the ice explodes. There are now a series of small islands to cross to the next open area. Hop across the islands and whack all the crates and icicles. Up ahead, wait for the pirates to start talking [cut-away scene] and then morph into pirate hologuise. Casually walk up to the flaming campfire pot.

Kreeli 20 Morph out of disguise and whack the campfire pot with your wrench. Load the Pyro Blaster and scorch all the pirates, crates and icicles. Clean-up after you're done. Jump down to the lower path. You'll hear pirates singing? Dunno where they're coming from? Anyway. Load up from the Weapons Vendor and start to walk down the ice tunnel. Watch for the electrified pirate sentry waiting for you. Load the Alpha Disruptor, zoom-aim for a red target ring then fire.

Kreeli 21 Be careful as you walk into the ice cave by the IRIS entrance. Run down and whack the last campfire pot. Hopefully you'll earn Skill Point 31: Saucy Wrench (10 pts). Take down the patrolling pirates. An alarm will sound alerting other pirates to man a nearby cannon turret. Dodge the cannon fire and hide for cover behind the cargo crates on the right. Stand back on the ledge and blind toss 2-3 Fusion Bombs over the crates. The turret will eventually go quiet.

ALTERNATE STRATEGY: A loyal R&C fan suggested using the Tornado Launcher here. I did try it, but found the vortex difficult to maneuver with the six axis controller in a tight space (the tornado would slip over the edge of the canyon), especially to climb the ledge to suck-up the guy on the cannon turret. BUT... it does work!

Kreeli 23 Take down the remaining pirates and collect all the loose change. Go to the IRIS entrance on the right. Morph into your pirate hologuise and approach the Pirate Doorkeeper. Do your pirate jig, he pays you a compliment and releases the gate. Walk inside to the IRIS Supercomputer. One more boss battle! Another Demolition Mech drops down and blocks your way. Don't they learn? Toss a Toxic Swarmer beacon and from a distance, enjoy tools of destruction at work!

Kreeli 24 After all is quiet, walk up the path and approach IRIS. The entrance portal opens as they walk up... Interesting theory here? The pirates could not open the portal, but Ratchet and Clank can? Clank may be the key! As you approach the door, Clank's eyes flash blue like the Zoni, just for a second. Could IRIS be indirectly communicating with him? Does IRIS recognize Clank? Are the Zoni and IRIS connected?

CONSPIRACY THEORY: It's been suggested that the idea of "IRIS" being "dark blue" in color, is not a co-incidence. It's actually a reference to IBM'S supercomputer named DEEP BLUE, which in the 80's, was considered to be the most powerful in the world and touted as "a LOOK (eye or iris?) into the future".
