Tools Of Destruction

Kortog

This mission can only be done after Ratchet comes back to the planet in his Lombax spaceship. The Lombax spaceship is on Planet Fastoon, which Ratchet repairs first. Look to the [galactic map] to return here.

Kortog 18 Walk to the first Robo-Wing launch pad. There are several of these green Gelatonium powered pads around the city. Our first mission is to find all the launch pads and take-off from each one. Finding all 10 launch pads will earn Ratchet the Skill Point 7: I've Been Around (10 points). Once done, find the launch pad by the start of the level with 2 adjoining bridges not far away from the Hall Of Knowledge entrance. It's the diamond on your [select overview map].

Kortog 24 No enemy activity on the bridges. Walk across into the building. Turn around and walk out before you go in. 3 combat saucers hover up from below. Load the plasma beasts. Toss 1 beast near the closest saucer. Watch out for the lasers coming from the other saucers. Toss another beast near the next saucer. Toss a 3rd beast near the last saucer. If you're successful, you'll earn the Skill Point 6: Surface To Air Plasma Beasts (10 points). Now go inside.

Kortog 25 Whack all the crates in the circular room and go left. Load your favorite weapon (shock ravager for me) and take down the commandos in the next hall. Go to the next small circular room. Whack all the crates. Ratchet picks up a holo-plan piece. The Gadgetron Help Desk explains that Holo-Plans are classified as secret and strictly forbids the transmission or copying of plans to foreign entities or agents of questionable character.

FOOTNOTE: Along the way, Ratchet has to collect all 13 holo-plan pieces on various planets. Collecting all pieces will complete the blueprint [inventory] allowing you to buy the RYNO 4 Ultimate Weapon from the smuggler. It's not cheap!

Kortog 26 Down the next hallway, a swarm of sparkbots. Again YOUR choice of weapon. I chose the shock ravager again. Take care of business, collect all the bolts and go into the next room. Whack all the crates and collect the bolts and raritanium. Go out the next hallway then out to the connecting bridge, back to the Robo-Wing launch pad. From here, look across to the towers with the ramps. There are 2 circular balconies. Fly across to the lower balcony and land safely.

Kortog 27 Hopefully, you're spending mad money at the weapons vendor, and have the new predator launcher. If you don't, NOW would be a good time to fly back to your ship to buy it. The predator is a great long range weapon that will be very helpful. OK. Load the predator launcher and tag one missle [hold R1] to the nearest target [triangle] (laser guided). Release [R1] to send the missle. Hold down R1 again and tag another missle. Release again. This is too much fun!

Kortog 28 Go across the bridge to the next tower. Inside, open the treasure chests for raritanium. Up the next bridge ramp, there are several shielded commandos. The predator launcher isn't quite powerful enough yet to pierce the armor (but it will soon!). For now, run up the ramp, toss a canister of confuzler gas between them and run back inside the tower. WATCH THE MAYHEIM! They fight each other and blow themselves up. Walk up the ramp to the next tower. Whack all the little shivering Cragmites left behind.

Kortog 29 Now we face 2 cyclone cannons. Fire a few combuster shots to get their attention. Once they open up, use the predator launcher to lock-on to the Cragmite inside. (best weapon to use on an incline). Launch 3 missles to blow him up. Jump to avoid being hit by his pulse laser fire. You may run into a situation where the cannon closes up again (you're not fast enough). No worries. just wait for the cannon to open up again and continue aiming and launching missles. They will go down!

Kortog 30 Walk inside the next tower. This is what we came up the ramps for. Pick-up gold bolt #3. Walk out the other side to the Robo-Wing launch pad at the end. Fly off to other sections of the city. Even if it's just to look around and enjoy the scenery. It is amazing! When you've had your fill, fly back to your spaceship. Time to go on a flight combat mission in the asteorid belt.
