After leaving the asteroid space station, Ratchet & Clank land on the pirate planet near Captain Slag's Hideout. Go to the Weapons vendor first and buy a weapon. I bought the nano-swarmers for 65,000 bolts. The path ahead is patrolled by pirates with plasma guns, so be careful. Weapon of choice is predator launcher missles. Nothing like long range love. Take down the 2 pirates then look to the round platform up on the left with another pirate.

Go to the Device vendor and load up on any combat devices you need (no new ones). Take care of the pirates that come up the path to confront you. Go left down the path and jump across the small islands. Take down the pirate walking up from below. Whack all the crates. Jump to the narrow path to the cliff wall. Clank's geo-laser homing beacon will start to buzz. Walk around the path to find the sweet spot for the laser to lock-in [triangle].

Through the binoculars, use the six axis controller to guide the laser beam across the (X) marks on the wall. They only last for a few seconds so make sure you burn through them in sequence. Should you wander off the cutting path, the laser will return to Ratchet (reset). Complete the burn path and you will see you've made a cut-out pattern in the wall. It explodes into pieces when complete.

Go into the cave through the new hole in the wall. Several bird-bats start to fly down to attack. These are called Thwogs. Nasty little critters with a big bite. Back-up a bit, wait for them to land or hover by the ground, and use the lightning ravager to zap them. Stay where you are. Load any long range weapon like the predator launcher. Look to the overhead cables. You can see 4-5 Thwogs sleeping, hanging updside down. Make sure you see lock-on targets, then fire.

Sneaking up and killing 5 sleeping Thwogs on any of the overhead cables, earns you Skill Point 18: Preemptive Strike (10 points)

Collect all the scattered raritanium and walk up the path to the upper ledges. Take down the Thwogs as they wake up and fly towards Ratchet. The lightning ravager or buzz blades work well in tight spaces. Walk around to the bridge. There's one pirate standing guard. Take him down with a predator launcher missle. 2 pirates up ahead huddled around a campfire, are talking about Captain Slag. Take them down from the bridge as soon as you get a lock-on target.

Walk down the bridge, hop down the pedestals then to the campfire. Whack all the crates. Clank's geo-laser homing beacon lights up again. Walk down the path on the left to the shallow pool below. Whack all the crates and collect the raritanium from the chests. Find the sweet spot for the geo-laser and lock-in [triangle]. Cut a hole in the stalagtite and make it drop from the ceiling. Now we have a platform to cross to the ledge. Jump across to the far ledge.

Take down the pirate and go to the Weapons vendor. Load up on anything you need and upgrade what you can with your raritanium. My predator launcher is now full upgraded with dual targeting and I'm working upgrading the nano-swarmers. Once done, go down the path, whack all the Thwogs and use Clank's geo-laser to cut a hole in the far wall. We found the PIRATE HIDEOUT!

Return Visit With Pirate Hologuise

After defeating Zorthan in a Magnetum Arena Tournament on Mukow, Ratchet returns with a pirate holo-guise. Work your way back through the caves reeking havoc as you go. Make it to the hideout and clean-out all the pirates that come to take you down. Go to the right where the Pirate Doorkeeper is guarding the locked portal. Transform to your pirate holo-guise and engage the doorkeeper. So can you dance?

You're gonna have to dance for your supper! Follow the dance instructions on the screen. Basically, just follow the moves of the priates and when they say MOVE TO YOUR LEFT, move the left analog stick to the left. You'll see Ratchet move his arms to the left. SHAKE YOUR BOOTY, shake the six axis controller in the air. Ratchet will shake his bum. Every miscue sounds a gong. When the jig is up the door unlocks.

Take the elevator pad to the upper catwalks. Use your raptor launcher, lock-on and take down any patrolling pirates. Go to the back of the cave. Find the hidden room [X]. Go inside and grab gold bolt #11. Use your Thruster-pack and glide down to the lower level and fight your way past the loading docks. Slide down the zip line to get to the treasure room. From the lower dock area, you can ride the gondola back to your ship.
