Well, you knew it had to come to this, sooner or later. WELCOME TO YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!! This is by far, the toughest battle section of the game! You will use everything in your arsenal and then some! If you're very lucky, you'll get through this nasty Thug security force on your second or third try... It's that hard!

If you haven't already, you will ABSOLUTELY NEED to buy the Shield Charger defense system. Without it, you will die quickly. Load on everything you need and approach the bridge. Load the Shield Charger + Synthenoids + Vaporizer. Stand a little right of the crates by the entrance, and zoom-in on any Thug tank. Quickly fire 2-3 vaporizer missles at the first tank. As the first missle hits, the 2 tanks respond with their rapid-fire pulse cannons, right away. Stay with it and let your shield take a few hits. You'll survive.

WEAPON STRATEGY: Make sure you have as many cognito ultra-mods on your weapons as possible. At a minimum, you should have the Lock-On + Acid mod for the Megarocket Cannon and Lock-On mod for the HK22 Seeker Gun. Other suggested mods would be the Lock-On + Shock mod for the Megaturret Glove and Vaporizer..

Quickly zoom-in on the second tank and fire 3 more Vaporizer missles, even if you are getting bombarded with enemy fire. Once both tanks are destroyed, strafe left [L2] and duck behind the bridge column near the stack of crates. Load the Megarocket Cannon. The Thug security troopers will continue to fire, while you reload. Buy more Vaporizer ammo + Shield Charger again at the MegaCorp kiosk. Run up the bridge and let the Cannon auto-aim ring find the 4 Thug troopers.

Strafe from left to right and fire 2-3 missles at each Thug trooper. All 4 will continue to fire away with plasma rifles that will attack and damage your shield. Jump in mid-air when you can while firing the rockets, to avoid enemy fire. Once all is quiet, run up behind the wreck of 1 of the 2 tanks. Load the Vaporizer and zoom-in on the far tank. Fire 3 quick shots and destroy the tank. Quickly load the Megarocket Cannon and take down the 3 troopers that start firing out of nowhere.

Before moving up to the end of the bridge, run back to the MegaCorp kiosk and load-up on ammo again. Look for any Nanotech health cubes nearby or ammo crates before spending your bolts. After reloading, run back to the end of the bridge. Select your Charge Boots so you can zoom back, by tapping [R2] twice. Load the HK22 Seeker Gun right by the laser beam and fire 6-8 sets of drones as the Thug troppers storm the street. Hide behind the wall while the seeker drones do damage. Take down any wandering troopers.

Jump over the laser and whack all the nearby streetlights and curb lamps. We are now inside the Thug security compound. Watch for any renegade troopers hiding behind the crates. Whack the crates on both sides of the street. By the left side of the street load the Vaporizer. Zoom auto-aim on the tank guarding the end of the street. Fire 3 shots to destroy it. Walk down the street towards the next set of lasers. Watch for the attack chopper that comes down from overhead.

There is no way around this. Confront the attack chopper head-on. Load the Megarocket Cannon and fire away at the cockpit as it shoots both pulse cannons right at you. Recharge your shield as needed. Strafe from left to right as best you can to avoid the tracer fire. 5 direct hits with the rockets should bring the chopper down. Ratchet will take damage no matter what. Once the street is clear, you can go forward to the next section, or go all the way back across the bridge and reload.

Down the next street section are a number of block baracades. Hiding behind the baracades are 4 Thug troopers. Load the HK22 Seeker Gun, jump in the air and fire 4-5 sets of drones over the baracades. The seekers will find and dive on the Thugs stopping their rifle fire before they destroy the baracde protection. Whack the nearby lamps and grab the 2 Nanotech health cubes on the street. DON'T GRAB THE LAST CUBE AT THE END OF THE STREET. This will trigger an ambush.

Make sure your shield charger is intact and load the Megaturret Glove. Toss 4-5 spikes right in the middle of the street, then whack the lone nanotech cube. A forcefield curtain comes down blocking the street. 5 Thug troopers come out of nowhere and start to fire on Ratchet point blank. Hide behind the wall on the left, just out of rifle range, and watch the turret spikes work on the Thugs from a distance. Load the Megarocket Cannon and take down any Thugs still standing. The forcefield disappears after the last Thug falls.

Walk down the street to the open area. 2 attack choppers come out of nowhere and start an intense fire barage on Ratchet. Run back down the street and hide for cover on the left. Load the Spiderbot Glove and run 5-8 spiders down the street. Detonate 4 spiderbots right underneath each chopper as it hovers near the ground. Look for the shadow. That should take care of them. Once the area is clear, whack all the nearby crates and streetlamps for bolts and ammo.

Go down the street to the right. Hide behind the block baracade. Load the Megarocket Cannon and fire a series of missles at the Thugs hiding behind the next baracade. Keep firing rockets until the auto-aim target ring has nothing to fire on. Each Thug may take between 2-3 missles to take down depending how well the Shock mod works on the weapon. Whack all the nearby crates and hop over the lasers. DON'T TOUCH ANY CRATES IN THE COUTRYARD AREA!

Behind the glass doors blocking the street, are several Thug troopers. Load the Meagturret Glove and toss 3-4 spikes in front of each glass door. Run back and whack all the crates. A forcefield curtain drops down over the street, caging Ratchet in the courtyard. As the glass doors rise, the Thugs will be taken down by the turret spikes. Load the Megarocket Cannon and take care of any troopers that survive. When all is quiet, walk through the archway.

Ok. We weren't ready for this! The Thug boss is inside this huge robot. Angela is inside a jail cell right by the chest of the robot. The Thug boss taunts Ratchet and the big boss battle is on! RUN LIKE MAD!
