Welcome to Alaska! A cold and snowy planet. If you watch Ratchet closely, he'll get a shiver every once in awhile.

First thing is to find out where the troop convoy is, and that means we need to go exploring. Load up on any goodies while you can at the MegaCorp kiosk. No cool new weapons to consider at this point. Down the first path, we come across new V2 bladeballs that pop out of the ground. Load the blitz gun and blast them at close range. Watch out for the blades.

If you can't react fast enough or feel too crowded, the trusty wrench is also an option. As Ratchet approachs the garage, the door explodes and out come 4 MSR-V3 chainsaw robots. These guys are a lot tougher than the first two versions but still fall with a little more firepower. Load the seeker or blitz gun and take care of business. Take the small path around the right of the garage, by the cliff, around to the back. Whack the snowman. for a hidden skill point.

Across the canyon bridge, are five more V3 chainsaw robots standing watch. Load the seeker gun and fire a few shots across the bridge. The drones will home-in and dive on the robots, with deadly efficiency. As Ratchet walks across the bridge, 4 new MSR V3 flamethrower robots drop down from an overhead cargo bay. These guys shoot very accurate long-range fire bursts that are fast and really hurt. Retreat back to the other side of the bridge and load the pulse rifle. Zoom-in and peg each one with one shot.

Hopefully, you saw the glow of a platinum bolt up top inside that cargo bay. We'll go get that soon. Up ahead, there is small ledge and in the back, we can see 2 more V3 chainsaw robots. There's actually a third one hiding behind the wall on the left. Heli-jump across the gap, load the seeker gun and fire 3 missles. One of the drones will locate and dive-in on the hidden robot. You can also use the pulse rifle and take your chances with the 3rd robot? Walk to the right and go inside the small arch. The elevator will go down.

Down at the bottom, there's two V3 chainsaw robots waiting for you outside, just to the left. Load the seeker gun and fire 2 drones from the elevator. Clean-up all the crates and bolts outside. To the right of the elevator is a cylinder with the tractor markings. Load the tractor beam zap, and hover the cylinder in front of you, into the elevator. Take the elevator up to the top and hover the cylinder to the right, all the way back to the farthest point, by the gap in the ledge, just below the cargo bay. Jump on the cylinder.

WEAPON LOADING: As we go deeper into the game, you're going to find it more challenging to carry the right mix of weapons into the [quick select] option [triangle]. Remember, you only have 8 choices and you'll have many to choose from, pretty soon. The key is to know your planet enemies. If you see one, you'll see more. Base your weapon choice on what works fast, not what has more ammo? Keep the bottom slot open for a gadget, that you can change only when needed.

Heli-jump from the top of the tractor cylinder to the ledge. Grab the edge and jump up. Jump to the cargo bay. Grab the platinum bolt inside. Whack the crates in the corner. They have springs and bolts. From the cargo bay, you can heli-glide back down to the ledge by the tractor cylinder. Load the tractor beam again and pull it back to the elevator entrance. DON'T GO INSIDE. This time, push the cylinder past the elevator opening, right to the edge of the path in the corner.

Jump on the cylinder. Around the corner of the building, there are 2 gray buildings down below. Heli-glide over to the corner of the roof of the nearest building. Jump down to the ground and walk around the far side of the second building. A platinum bolt is right under the tree. Climb up to the roof between the 2 buldings amd heli-glide over to the small pedestal island in the middle. Watch-out for bladeballs that pop from the snow at close range. Use your wrench for these guys.

Up ahead, a few V3 chainsaw robots are waiting patiently for you to try and get past them. From the safety of the island, load the heavy lancer or seeker gun and blow them away. Once clear, jump to the path. Go to the left and right first, and whack all the crates. As you walk down the path, a security ship hovers up ahead and drops a few more V3 chainsaw and flamethrower robots. Load the pulse rifle, Zoom-in the ship first. and shoot him right out of the sky.

If Ratchet doesn't get the security ship right away, he'll drop more robots, which makes the job that much tougher. Load the seeker gun and fire 5-6-8 drones down the middle of the path. Try not to venture down the path too far, because some of those robots are flamethrowers, and they do fire, even from a distance. Once quiet, walk to the end, clean-out the crates and load-up at the MegaCorp kiosk. You may want to SAVE GAME here as well. Mission accomplished.
