After receiving the transmission about Slim's Ship Shack, it's time to go explore the chemical factory for any clues about the thief.

From the roof-top, heli-glide over to the wharf platform down below. As you get closer, Ratchet notices all the chicken-bots roaming around. As soon as you land, load the tesla claw or blitz gun and take care of the pet problem. Whack all the crates and pole lamps on the left. Lots and lots of bolts! Walk down the street to the right and then to the left.

Up ahead is the canal bridge leading to the chemical factory. This place is covered with chicken-bots and of course a robot hive generator spitting out more of them on the bridge. The little marker lights on the top of the bridge are breakable by the way! So take care of the bot infestation, and run up to destroy the robot generator. The bridge is now safe. If you're feeling lucky, you can take aim on the innocent boat dwellers on the canal, and whack a few boats.

At the end of the bridge, Ratchet reaches the front entrance to the chemical factory. To open the door, use Ratchet's wrench and turn the floor screw til it locks and releases the overhead door. Walk in and look around. Go down the first hallway and bounce up the walls to the second level platform. Chicken-bots are right there to greet you. Whack them with your wrench.

First thing you notice is this place is HUGE! A very tall, single room structure with big holding tanks and machinery. After trying to figure out where to go next, it dawned on me. There's a small ledge on the right side of the pool that looks to be climbable with the help of a helipack. Drop down to the lower platform, whack all the crates and load the thermanator. Freeze the big tank and skate across to the ledge on the right. Heli-jump to the platform. Whack all the crates.

Turn the floor screw up top which will uncoil a sectional bridge. Walk across the new bridge to another holding tank. Using the thermanator, thaw the ice and swim through the pipes to the other side. Surface and jump out. Down below is another holding tank, but this one's frozen. In the middle there's a platforn with a turn-screw. Heli-glide down to the platform and turn the screw. A new overhead bridge uncoils and locks. But, we can't get to it? Load the thermanator, thaw the ice.

Swim down through the pipe in the wall to another smaller room. Surface and climb-out on the right. Using the thermanator, freeze up the water again. Skate across the new ice and bounce off the walls on the other side, up to the walkway. Go left and climb the steps and over the wall to the new bridge. Take care of the pesky chicken-bots. Walk across the bridge to several circular tanks. Look down into the tank. We have a visitor. A nasty mutant Ratchet-eating piranha!!

OK... So we're not going swimming. The challenge here is that the water level keeps moving up and down in the tank. We need to complete the freeze of the water at exactly the right time (at the highest level), so we can skate across and use the heli-spring to reach the next platform. Using the thermanator, freeze the water about 3/4 the way on the guage. When the water reaches the top, freeze the rest of the way. This may take practice, but you can freeze and thaw as many times as needed.

Skate across and heli-jump to the next tank. Inside this tank is the same story. The water level keeps going up and down and our friend the piranha, is swimming around. The difference this time is the open pipe in the far wall of the tank. The secret here is to freeze the water half-way up the open pipe. Ratchet can then heli-glide down into the tank, skate through the open pipe and then climb out the platform on the other side. It would be impossible to swim this, so don't try it.

Once you make dry land out on the next tank, we have to thaw and re-freeze the water at its highest level, so we can heli-jump to the back ledge. Once done, whack all the crates and the Nanotech health cube. Major bolts to be had here! Up top on the next platform is another tank with a connecting pipe in the wall. This one requires an absolute precise freeze. The freeze has to be 2/3 to 3/4 the way up the pipe. Just enough room for Ratchet to skate through.

The platform at the other end is very high up and is just reachable with a heli-jump and an edge grab. This freeze was too low, believe it or not. Once successful, climb up the platforms, to the room with the TV monitor and 3 micro-bots. Missision complete. No sign of the thief anywhere. Approach the TV monitor up top.. Movie sequence begins.
