Our 1st mission on Planet Novalis is to explore the waterworks. There are 2 distincts areas to explore. We will go through the caves and underwater lagoons first.

On the far side of the shuttle pad, there is a gap between the cliffs. Walk down the passage. Rachet can swim and float so don't be afraid of the water. Collect all the bolts and dive into the water. Go to the bottom and fetch all the loose bolts. Watch your oxygen meter. Once it starts flashing red, you have to surface, or you will drown. Swim to the far side and jump out by the metal door and the large screw floor plate. Don't forget to break the nearby crates for more bolts.

Using Rachet's wrench, lock the wrench on the floor bolt, and then walk around it counter-clockwise. As you turn the bolt, the door will start to open. Keep going round and round, until you hear a pressure release and the bolt sinks into the floor plate. The door is now secured in its open position. In the next room, go up the stairs to the dimly lit cave.

Activate your bomb glove. Aim the bomb target ring and take out all three robot guards. Jump in all the shallow pools and collect the loose bolts. Break all the crates and collect your bolts and supplies. The larger mushrooms and coned shaped rocks, also give up bolts, so fire away or chop away at them. Before you jump in the far lagoon, make sure you have cleaned out and investigated the whole area.

Jump into the lagoon and swim over to the far side keeping Rachet's head above water. Now dive down and swim through the underwater circular tunnel. Collect all the bolts in the tunnel along the way. Watch your oxygen meter closely. You won't have alot of margin of error if you happen to miss a bolt and have to swim back. At the other end of the tunnel, swim up to the surface and jump out.

Walk around the rim of each of the 3 circular water tanks and collect all the goodies. There's nothing inside any of the tanks, but if you want, you can always swim around and have a look. Jump down to the area by the metal door with another floor bolt plate. Take out the 2 robot bees lurking around. Use your wrench and open the next door. Jump into the next lagoon and dive down through the underwater cave tunnel and then swim up to the next open cave area.

Walk up the stairs and break open all the crates and collect the Nanotech health sphere if you need it. If you don't need it and are at full health, the sphere will stay there intact. Swipe away at all the mushrooms and rocks and then leave the area through the open portal in the rock. You are now back at the level entrance by the launch pad. 1st mission is now complete. Time to explore the 2nd half of the waterworks.

Once you have bought the disruptor or visibomb you can access another gold bolt. The location of this gold bolt, was uncovered when looking at the mission map with the map-o-matic bought at the Gagdetron office on Planet Kalebo 3. It shows a small hidden cave behind the rocks.

Return to the cave area, all the way to the 3 water tanks. To the left of the door area, there is a large boulder blocking the entrance to another cave. Anything less than a guided missle, will NOT destroy the rock. Point and aim at the boulder. Once destroyed, you'll see the glow of a gold bolt. Grab it and whack all the crates for lots of bolts. When done, return to the shuttle pad.
