Rachet & Clank

Planet Aridia

The Blarg Space Station is another new experience. The game environment is so realistic. A lot of time was spent in the details. First mission is to explore the station.

Nebula G34 3 Off to the right of the shuttle pad docking area, is an access tube into the station, blocked by an electric forcefield. On the wall to the left, is a electric magneto switch. Whack the magneto coil and the forcefield evaporates. Down the first tube watch out for the steam vents. You cannot destroy them or turn them off. The green steam is biohazardous. You can avoid the steam spray by walking along the very edge of the tube just out of range. Go through the next airlock.

Nebula G34 4 Load the suck cannon before you walk past the airlock. Be on the lookout for lots of nasty little mutant frogs. They drop out from the overhead vents as you walk by. Suck the mutant frogs into the cannon, and when the cannon is full, fire them back at other frogs. The cannon has to fully discharge before it can suck up small enemies again. You don't have to auto-aim the suck cannon. Just point and shoot in the general direction. Great way to save ammo.

Nebula G34 5 In the next open chamber, there is another electric forcefield blocking the access tube. This one has 2 electric magneto switches. Both switches have to be burnt out to evaporate the forcefield. Load the blaster before you continue down the access tube. There is a tough robot soldier with a long range pulse flame thrower, standing guard. Stay away from him and fire 3-4 bursts using the auto-aim feature. Break all the crates and then walk down the access tube.

EXTRA HINT: All the overhead lights in the access tubes and the open chambers are breakable. Zoom-aim the blaster and shatter the lights for extra bolts. Might as well get as many bolts as you can. Oddly enough, it doesn't affect the lighting?

Nebula G34 6 Load the suck cannon again and play with the group of hungry mutant frogs that come pouring out of the overhead vents. At the very end of the access tube, there is an open archway on the left, leading to the space station central sphere. Don't go in there just yet. Load the trespasser first, plug into the wall socket on the left and disengage the invinco-lock. This one is tough to crack. There are a number of laser deflector mirrors to contend with.

Nebula G34 7 Once you disengage the lock and open the airlock, you'll understand why this room was sealed up. WOW! A storage vault full of bolts and ammo. Look at all them crates! Load the blaster first. I found out the first time through this game, that those 3 crates in the middle contain mutant frogs, not bolts. That was a nasty surprize. Blast away at everything, including the funny portable lights. Go in and clean-out the room. Now enter the central hub sphere. The catwalk is narrow so be careful not to wander too much.

Nebula G34 8 Off to the right are 2 steam vents that cycle from left to right. Off to the left are a series of scaffolding platforms guarded by more steam vents. Watch the vents cycle on and off. When the steam stops, run past and jump up to the next platform. Hang from the edge and watch the vents above you. When they stop, pull up, run and jump to the next platform and climb up. Load the swingshot, lock-on to the double versa-target, and swing over to the far access tube.

Load the blaster right away and from the balcony, gun down the robot soldier and all the crates. Note that the crates splat rather than explode. There were mutant frogs inside them, not bolts. Go through the next airlock into the laboratory.

Nebula G34 9 To the right, are 2 mounted cages with mutant lizards. Both cages are electrified by magneto coil switches. Do not get too close. From a safe distance auto-aim the blaster and burn-out both magneto switches. The lizards will jump down from their now-opened cages and will start running towards you. Load the glove of doom and toss 1 canister at them. Make sure you step back into the access tube. Let those 4 little nano-robots take care of business.

Nebula G34 10 Clean out the room and then down the access tube through the next airlock. You are now inside a drilled-out asteroid. If you jump and pull up to the next platform, you'll be greeted by a wave pulse of flame. A robot guard soldier is up top watching and waiting for you. To get past him, drop back to the airlock and zoom-in and auto-aim the target using the blaster. You can get a clear line of sight on him that will just clear the top of the ledge. 3 shots will take him down. Now jump up and grab all the goodies.

Nebula G34 11 Entering the next room is very very creepy. Welcome to the mutant storage room! This is where they keep all of them locked up, or that was the plan? I had a bad feeling about this place when I saw the extra Gadgetron kiosk. That can only mean 1 thing. We're going to use a ton of ammo in here! Load the glove of doom and toss 4-5 canisters into the room. Stand back and watch the mutant carnage as your little army of nano-robots go kick butt. Too much fun!

Nebula G34 12 Once the area has been cleared, load the pyrocitor and jump to the upper level on the right. One of the portals opens up to a small cave in the back and you can see a secret gold bolt. But... Rachet's going to have to get past all those mutant frogs first. Flame away as long as you have to. Don't worry about using even 100 units of ammo. We can buy more at the nearby kiosk. Grab the gold bolt, whack all the crates and then clean out the other cages in the storage room.

Nebula G34 13 Before going into the next power chamber, go to the Gadgetron kiosk and max-out all your ammo. You are going to need it! Walk about halfway down the first metal catwalk. Load the blaster and take out the magneto coil. This will drop the electric fence to the left. Load the bomb glove, aim and toss 2 bombs at each of the mutant lizards. Jump to the next 3 catwalk sections, and repeat the process with the blaster then the bomb glove. The whole area should now be cleaned-out and pest-free.

We are basically finished exploring the space station. The next airlock behind the 2 Nanotech health spheres, leads to a huge chamber and a major arena-style mutant battle. Now you know why the Gadgetron kiosk was back there!
