Space Fighter Combat

Drek's Fleet 19 Hidden inside Drek's flagship, you'll come across this space dock with the Blarg fighter ship. To get here, Rachet has to spacewalk outside. Once Rachet passes through the airlock curtain, he can board the space fighter. The object of the mission now, is to destroy the pulse cannon turrets mounted on the main tanker ship, that are softening up targets down below on Planet Veldin.

Drek's Fleet 20 THIS IS A FUN BATTLE BUT VERY DANGEROUS! If you like Star Wars, this will be your dream come true! Rachet has to navigate in and around all of Drek's Fleet, while trying to lock-on and firing missles on the turrets. There are 8 cannon turrets to destroy. The bad part, is that the cannons fire back at your ship once they know you are trying to lock-on to them. So, not only do you have to sneak up on them from a blind angle, but you have to watch-out for return fire.

Drek's Fleet 21 As the fighter ship flies within range of the cannons, a set of red target rings will illuminate over the turrets. Lock the triangle cross-hairs of the fighter on the ring (which will light up) and fire one missle. The missles are heat seekers, so you can turn away or dodge enemy fire, once you fire the shot. Small enemy scout ships will try to intercept your missles along the way. Fire your machine gun and collect missles as they vaporize. Once all the turrets are gone, Rachet returns to the hover pad by the hanger.

The combat fighter thing is over way too soon? OK. back to the grind. Take the hover pad back up to the walkway. Now Rachet can continue left to a new hover pad (because the cannon fire is now gone). Walk onto the hover pad and go back inside the ship, into a new area. Note that you stay inverted, so you are now walking on the ceiling with your Magneboots still on, and NO weapons.

Drek's Fleet 22 The first room is full of moving lasers and guard dogs (which aren't a problem right now). Walk across the ceiling to the other set of doors. Open and go through the doors to another hover pad. This pad will invert you back to the ground. Load the gold blaster and walk through the doors straight ahead. Take care of any enemies nearby, and clean-out the command bridge. Off to the left is a teleport pad back to the shuttle launch pad. The mission is now complete if you like.

Drek's Fleet 23 There is some unfinished business to attend to. Namely getting the 2nd gold bolt. Go out from the bridge, and back through the room with the hover pad. Out the far doors are the guard dogs you just avoided. Load the gold blaster and take care of business. Walk to the other end of the room avoiding the lasers. Off to the right, is another set of doors. Load the hologuise first, just to see what's inside, and open the doors. Look around the room. There's 2 security robots watching the door, with an alarm pedestal between them.

Drek's Fleet 24 Go back out the doors BUT KEEP THEM OPEN. Hidden out of sight from the robots, load the glove of doom. Go just inside the room and toss a canister over the laser beam guarding the door. Chances are you have alerted one of the security robots and have tripped the alarm. Stand away from the doors and let them close. You should be safe for now. Once the alarm resets, go back inside the room and clean-out all the bolts. go around to the left and out the next set of doors.

Drek's Fleet 25 Watch the laser traps in the floor and jump between them as they cycle. If you get injured, grab the Nanotech health sphere off to the right. In the next hallway, you can see the glowing bolt up ahead in the room. Navigate the next set of floor and wall lasers and take the bolt. To leave the room and avoid the lasers, whack the electric magneto switch on the left. This will disable the plasma forcefield behind the door. On the other side, is the first cargo bay for Drek's ship.

Go back out the airlock and walk all the way down the outside of the spaceship to the hover pad at the end. Go back inside Drek's ship with the hover pad and then walk across the ceiling of the long room, through the doors, then invert down to the ground with the hover pad at the end. Go out the door to the command bridge, and use the teleport pad to go to the shuttle launch pad. Time to go save your home planet..
