Find Skid's Agent

Our last mission on this planet, is to find Skid's Agent somewhere. Nothing like a little adventure. Check your detail map [select button] to find out what areas you still have to explore. Areas already visited will be highlited in yellow.

Planet Aridia 15 From the refinery entrance, gun down the soldier with the blaster in auto-aim. Stand clear of the flame trail. Cross the metal catwalk. Keeping your blaster loaded, run down the two conveyer belts and take out all the robot soldiers. Collect all the loose bolts as you go and recharge with the Nanotech health sphere if you need it. Walk along the next metal catwalk, and take the elevator down to the lower sand beach area. Load your pyrocitor first before entering the next area.

Planet Aridia 16 Jump over the mud pond and flame all the sand sharks and the robot soldier with the missle launcher. Break all the crates. Climb up the next platform. The UP arrows with the hand symbols indicate this is a ledge you can grab and pull up. Load your bomb glove. Walk to the other side of the platfom. From up here, toss a few bombs at the soldier below. Jump down and clean up the whole area. Jump and pull-up to the platform, turn right and climb up to the next platform.

Planet Aridia 17 Re-activate the blaster. Point and auto-aim down both pipe tunnels. Take out the sand sharks. If you are patient, you can wait for the robot soldier to appear at the far end of either pipe and gun him down from this end, with 4-5 zoom-aimed blasts. Walk through either pipe and collect all the goodies at the other end. Now walk across the next catwalk attached to the wall and grab the ledge at the end marked with the arrows.

Planet Aridia 18 Use your analog stick or right directional button to shimy to the right while dangling from the ledge. Pull up when you see the ledge open up above you. Bump into any one of the red detonator crates dead ahead, then cash-in on the huge pile of bolts. Climb the vent ladder jumping up with your hands and you will arrive back at the surface of the planet. You are now on the other side of the mud lake. Jump to the beach area.

EXTRA HINT: If you feel really brave, Rachet can go for another secret gold bolt. Turn right, towards the island in the middle of the mud lake, with all the tractors. Take a running heli-jump along the fence to a small square block in the corner. If Rachet lands in the lake, he can jump out once! From the block, heli-jump to the island. Go to the far end of the island and look for a truck. A gold bolt is inside the dump truck. Retrace your steps back to the mainland or drop down thru the break in the fence.

Planet Aridia 19 Jump to the beach area on the left and find the agent next to his escape pod [Action sequence begins]. After playing with his cellphone, the agent is ready to give Rachet a celebrity contract if he can win one of the hoverboard races. The closest race is on Planet Rilgar in Blackwater City, which is still only a dream. Walk away from the agent and go to the tube transporter by the shore. Rachet is automatically shuttled to the other side of the lake. Our job on this planet is done for now. All missions are complete.

Return Visit

After winning the hoverboard race on Planet Rilgar, take the tube transporter back to the island area and approach Skid's Agent. He is so excited that you won, that he gives you a contract signing bonus. His gift is a Sonic Summoner.

Planet Aridia 20 The Gadgetron Help Desk explains how the summoner works. In remote areas on every planet, there are homing beacons in the ground with little aerials. When Rachet wears the summoner helmet and walks near a beacon, the local sand mice will activate a hovering drone mouse that will follow and assist you. This hovering mouse has a nasty bite and fires plasma bullets at your enemies. He will help you as long as he doesn't get hit or bumps into anything.

Return Visit

After getting the Magneboots on Planet Orxon, take the tube transporter back to the island area and climb the far wall behind the agent's escape pod. As you walk up the wall, the Magneboots will grip the metal. The walkable metal vents are between the wall sections. Up top is a sky defense turret cannon on a circular terrace. Around the perimiter of the terrace are several crates to break. Load the metal detector and find all the hidden bolts as well.

Inside the cannon turret complex you can see the glow from a secret gold bolt. Walk up and grab the bolt. Clean-out the crates in the hallway. Walk back down the wall using your Magneboots, and take the tube transporter back to the shuttle pad. Everything is done on this planet. Check your map and status [select].
