Planet Aridia

This would be a good time to visit the Gadgetron Kiosk back by the shuttle pad (level entrance). Load up to the max on all your ammo. There is no way to cross the mud lake, so for now, explore the beach area leading up to the refinery complex.

Skill Point: If you have completed the sand shark challenge, go to the left from Ratchet's spaceship and take the crane platform up to Skid's wrecked ship. From this high vantage point, load the blaster, use the [zoom] feature [L1] and peg 4 flying cargo ships as they fly by within target range.

Planet Aridia 7 Watch out for sand sharks. Load the pyrocitor before you jump over the mud. Flame them all then whack all the crates. The next series of robot soldiers have flame throwers. Rather than fight fire with fire, it's time to load the blaster. This is an electro-magnetic pulse machine gun with medium range and has the auto-aim upgrade. Rachet can stand well out of range of any robot's flame trail, lock-on the target, and fire away at will.

Planet Aridia 8 To lock-in on a target, stand within range, turn Rachet from left to right and watch for a yellow circle with 3 notches. If you see the circle on your target, you are locked-in. Any blast from the gun will "home-in" on the target circle. NOTE: This blaster, will only lock-on to enemy targets. If you want, this weapon can also be used to explode crates, some fragile rocks and minor vegetation, but the auto-aim feature won't work.

EXTRA HINT: If you are having a hard time locking-in on a target, use Rachet's screen-cam zoom feature [L1]. Move from left to right targeting with the red circle. If you are within range to lock-in, a smaller yellow circle will appear. Rachet can still fire any weapon while in camera zoom mode.

Planet Aridia 9 Work your way down the beach past all the soldiers and sand sharks. In the corner, by the refinery complex, there are lots of goodies and a Nanotech health sphere. Make sure to clean up all the bolts lying around. Jump on the round elevator pad and take it to the entrance platform inside the refinery. Off to the right there are soldier robots with flame throwers. Avoid them for now. From here go to the left and load the swingshot from your Quick Select [triangle].

Planet Aridia 10 Overhead you can see several single and double versa-targets. Swing to the far platform. If you want, you can clean up the bolts down below, but you will have a chance to get them later. A set of stairs will allow you to climb back up. From the far platform, turn left and swing deep inside the refinery. Swing from platform to platform and run along the moving conveyer belts as needed. If you can't see the next versa-target, use the zoom camera to find it, then aim.

Planet Aridia 11 Some sections of the refinery have "booby-trapped" platforms filled with red detonator crates. If you bump into any red crate, they will all explode and Rachet will take health damage. It is a necessary evil and sacrifice for bolts. Try not to fall into the mud lake below. There is no way out. If you fall in, you'll start over by the refinery entrance. Work your way around to the large open space hangar with lots of versa-targets scattered around at different heights.

Planet Aridia 12 This gets a little tough. Swing across to the far wall with the small platform. There's a Nanotech health sphere and a couple of crates. Turn right and swing up to the ledge in the corner. Turn right again, and swing up to the next ledge in the middle of the back wall. Now, tarzan-swing high across the hangar using the double targets, to the far upper balcony. Take out the soldier and clean up all the bolts in the room.

Planet Aridia 13 Take the catwalk through the arch, into the reactor core. Grab the trespasser tool. This is a lock-pick that will get you through Invinco-locked doors marked with a floor-star and a wall socket. The Gadgetron Help Desk will explain how the trespasser works. Simply plug the lock-pick into the wall socket and line up the lasers to the red light receptacles until they all turn green. The invinco-lock will automatically disengage and the door(s) will open.

Planet Aridia 14 Don't leave just yet! Hidden below, inside the reactor core, just out of sight, is a gold bolt. Use your active camera [right analog stick], to look down. Watch the rotating catwalks below and jump to one of them. Grab the bolt. To get back up, walk to the wall along one of the catwalks, aim your active camera up to the versa-target, and then swing up to the higher platform. Go through the door that was locked and jump on the elevator pad, down to the area where we started the swingshot course. Pick up all the loose bolts.

Climb the stairs and return to the refinery entrance area. This mission is now complete. Check your status to make sure it is checked off. Check your Quick Select as well, to make sure the trespasser is now included.
