After hang-gliding into the volcano, Jak & Daxter now have to find the satellite buried deep inside the caves. There is an exit teleport guarded by a "seeing-eye" which we cannot access yet. Once you get close, spears jump out from the walls. |

This is a spooky place. You know there's going to be MetalHead trouble! Load the Blaster or V2 Beam Reflexor, Jump down to the floor and work up the steps to the grassy area. Watch-out for MetalHead scorpions that pop up from the ground and scurry through the grass (almost indetected). Shoot them as they appear or even if you see the grss moving. Grab all the Metalhead skulls that explode from their dead bodies. Some scorpions will also leave Dark Eco energy balls behind. |
SECRET AMMO STRATEGY: If you have accumulated enough Precursor Orbs, it's worthwhile to unlock any ammo upgrade cheat from the [secrets] menu. |

Climb the ledges at the end of the grassy area. Up top whack the nearby crates for ammo. To the left is a Leaper Lizard. He runs away as you try to get close. Daxter suggests that he's going to come in handy, getting around these parts. Walk down the canyone ledge and jump across to the next ledge. The floor will crumble away as you jump. The floor on the other side crumbles away as you land. Jump to safety. Take down all the Metalheads that come out to attack. |

Work your way down the path blasting all the MetalHeads as you go. I kept the Beam Reflexor loaded at all times. At the bottom, there's a small tropical garden area with a stream. The Leaper Lizard is taking a rest and not running away so quickly now. Take care of the Metalhead frogs that roll up to Jak and try to bite him. Walk around the back of the cave walls and corner the Leaper Lizard by the steps. If you time it just right, you can get close enough to mount and ride him. |

Once you're on the Leaper Lizard, jump up the steps to the edge of the path. Up ahead is a lava lake that is not passable on foot. A lava ball rises from the lake below every few seconds. Out in the lava lake is a small pedestal island. Jump and land on that small pedestal island. Turn to the left and super jump the Leaper [X + X in mid-air] to the next solid ledge. Up ahead another lava lake. The pedestal islands are moving up and down. Super jump to the first pedestal. Wait for it to rise up. |

Leap across the 3 pedestal islands as they rise up from the lava. Leap to the far ledge along the cliff. Grab the ammo crates nearby. At the end of the cliff ledge, another lava lake. The pedestal island is quite far away. This will take a well-timed super leap. Jump to the pedestal island, wait for the rock to rise all the way up, then super leap across to the far ledge on the left. Quickly dismount from the Leaper and fire your Beam Reflexor. The place is crawling with MetalHeads. When all's quiet, go and climb the ladder. |
SKULL GEMS: Eventhough it may be a pain, make sure you collect all the MetalHead Skull Gems you can. They'll be bouncing all over the place after you kill an enemy, and you may have to chase a few, but you will need them for challenges coming up later. |

On the upper ledge, jump across to the small platform by the tree. The edges will break away as you jump across. As Jak walks up to the tree [Movie sequence begins]. Daxter scopes out the situation and says to Jak that he'll get them out of a jam. He says he'll be right back. GAMEPLAY TURNS TO DAXTER. He starts his part of the mission hanging from an overhead mesh frame. Monkey-bar across the mesh. Stay to the right side of the frame to avoid getting burnt by lava. |

Jump down to the ledge at the other end of the mesh frame. Jump across the first gap as the lava flow recedes. Whack the Metalheads with Daxter's tail (spin move), as they attack. Jump across the next series of gaps using Daxter's tail [X+X] to extend his reach. At the end of the last platfrom, there looks to be no way out. [Movie sequence begins] Daxter leans against a large stone pillar. The pillar starts to move and slams down against a pedestal island connecting back to Jak. |

Still playing as Daxter, run down the ramp created by the pillar and jump across the gap. GAMEPLAY RETURNS TO JAK. Jump over the gap and run up the ramp that Daxter just created. Super jump [L2+X] and grab the edge of the upper path. Pull up. Load the Beam Reflexor right away and shoot down the swarm of MetalHeads that come running. Once the coast is clear, collect the ammo crates on the left and walk down the path til the very end. Watch for more MetalHeads. |

At the end of the path a strange situation. There's a steam geyser that blows every 4-5 seconds from a hole in the ground. Nearby a block that could act like a platform. Using Jak's punch attack, walk behind the block and punch it over the hole in the ground. TADA! We have just created a floating hover platform that rises with the steam of the geyser. As the steam stops, jump to the block and wait. The steam will push the block to the top. Jump to the upper path. |

Walk down the next path, being mindful for MetalHeads sneaking around. Jump across the gap to the right and follow the path up the cliff to the pipe section. GAMEPLAY GOES TO DAXTER. He scurries around a pipe and ends up riding this long aquaduct (like a bobsled run). It's quite the ride. The object is to keep Daxter IN THE HALFPIPE. If he falls out, you'll start over at the top of the run. When we makes it to the end, jump across the final gap to the cliff ledge. |

He's not done yet. In the next area, climb the block up against the far wall, on the left. From there, jump to the awning in the wooden brace scaffolding (screen-cam will go passive). Bounce up the awning to the next awning. Bounce your way up the cliff to the top and jump to the ledge. Whip Daxter's tail and whack the MetalHeads up top. Bounce up the next set of awnings and take care of the MetalHeads up there. After the last set of awnings Daxter walks out to a terrace. |

[Movie sequence begins] Daxter looks to a block pad hanging over the edge of a cliff. Jak is down below. Daxter tries everything to try and move the block. Nothing! Out of frustration, Daxter walks onto the block and stomps on it. To Daxter's surprise and horror, it works! The block slides of the edge of the cliff and crashes down below. GAMEPLAY RETURNS TO JAK. Jak punches the block over the nearby geyser. Continue on. |

With the Beam Reflexor still loaded walk down the narrow path to the open terrace. Lots of nasty MetalHeads prancing around. Watch-out for the Metalheads clinging to the cliff wall high above you. They will pounce when you least expect it. On this terrace there are 3 blocks and 3 geyser holes. Move the blocks at either end over their nearby geysers. This will pressurize the middle block. Jump to the middle block and let the geyser take you up. Jump to the terrace rock steps. |

Climb the steps of the rock terrace and watch for gaps between steps. You may think you're walking on a continuous staircase, but it's not. Peg all the nearby MetalHead frogs. Work your way up the ramps to the very top. We're getting close. You see some robot parts that look awfully familiar and probably made from Dark Maker technology. Around the corner, Jak sees the top of the volcano. And there sits the wreck of one of the satellites. It's huge! and surrounded by lava! |

On the face of the high platform by the satellite, there's a wall ladder. We have to get there. Jump to one of the crusty rock pads as it floats by in the lava. Walk to the edge. As the rock pad passes the ladder, jump and climb to the top. [Movie sequence begins]. Jak & Daxter are awed by the satellite and see a dead monk holding something in it's hands. Daxter goes up to try and grab the artifact, but is freaked out by the monk's cold, clammy hands. He yanks on it anyway. |

Daxter breaks the strange artifact free from the monk, but it lands in Jak's hands. Jak is immediately consumed in Dark Eco and goes invisible. The artifact shatters as he drops it from the pain of Dark Eco. Daxter is freaked out, but returns to his senses OK... Time to get out. Walk to the edge of the platform. Down below, the rock pads are floating down the lava stream. Jump down to one of the rock pads and float along to just before the waterfall. Jump off to the left. |

Walk all the way down the winding narrow path to the end. There won't be too much MetalHead traffic so don't worry about being ambushed. At the bottom, jump down the ledge and go to the left. We are back in the room where we first entered the volcano with the hang-glider. On the far wall, a strange glow. In the wall is a Dark Eco Invisibility Receptor. Walk up press [triangle]. Jak goes invisible but only for a limited time. Walk past the "seeing eye" and teleport out. |
Jak pops out of the other end of the teleport. We are back inside the monk temple by the entrance from the Wasteland. Wow.. That was a long trip! |
