Jak II

Kleiver's Turret Challenge

Find a nearby Leaper Lizard and ride all the way through the city. Because we're not on a time clock, this would be a good time to complete any of the Precursor Statue Challenges on the way, or look for more hidden orbs in crates and urns.

Turret Challenge 1 Kleiver is standing by a stone bridge at the beach. [Movie sequence begins]. Kleiver wants to know how good a marksman you are. He's been the "top gun" around the city for quite some time and think he's unbeatable. Jak's up to the challenge to beat his score. Daxter agrees!

Turret Challenge 2 The turret is mounted atop a small rock island out in the water. Climb up the ladder on the island, and hop up the rock steps. Jump inside the turret and the game begins. The object inside the turret is to shoot-down the spinning discs as they jump out from the water. The sooner you blast the discs, the more points you get. Each successful hit target will range 25-250 points. We have to get to 7,000 points with fewer than 10 misses. Use [R1] to fire the turret guns (unlimited ammo).

Turret Challenge 3 The spinning discs can come from anywhere. For the most part, they are dead ahead and easy to peg. Later on in the challenge, they will spin across the screen from left to right, or spin in series of 4-5 discs at the same time. DON'T LET A DISC FALL BACK INTO THE WATER! That's considered a miss. Pink discs are worth more than yellow discs. If you have to miss one, make it yellow. Once Jak has over 7,000 points he jumps down from the turret and meets up with Kleiver.

Turret Challenge 4 [Movie sequence begins] Kleiver is disgruntled that Jak has won the challenge, but true to his word, hands Jak the Spargus turret trophy. Inside the trophy is a Light Eco Crystal for your collection. Kleiver suggests that Jak not get too comfortable with the Crystal, because someone is surely going to challenge him for it. Find a Leaper Lizard and go back through the city and find the arena entrance. Time for another battle.
