TakeOut Marauder Stronghold


After finishing up with Sig out in the desert, and defending the gate to Spargus, Jak gets one more mission out in the Wasteland before heading back to Haven City.

Marauder Stronghold 1 Jump in the Dune Hopper and head out into the Wasteland. Look for the "castle" icon in the proximity radar. There will be Marauder traffic along the way but nothing we're not used to. Go all the way out, til you find the lake hidden behind the mountain range. In the center of the lake is a stone fortress on an island. Drive down the inner wooden dock. Use the spring suspension in the Hopper to jump across the gaps in the dock.

Marauder Stronghold 1 Jump across the 3 gaps of the wooden dock access road to the island. Make sure you stop and back-up before attempting the next jump. You do need room to accelerate to make the gap. At the end, the draw bridge to the fortress compound opens. Drive in... It's too quiet? Park the Dune Hopper and jump out. Load the Beam Reflexor. Marauders start to drop into the main courtyard area. Shoot them as they start to attack. BE CAREFUL! They come at you from all sides.

Marauder Stronghold 2 There are 60 Marauders to shoot. While they jump down and attack, the catapult tanks are also hard at work from outside the fortress. The tanks start to hurl fireballs into the compound area. Watch-out for the explosions and residual fires that linger in the courtyard. Best advice is to keep moving. Don't stand still in one spot for long. Don't allow time for the catapult tanks to home-in on your position. Keep firing. Once all 60 marauders are blown-away, a cut-away scene starts.

Marauder Stronghold 3 4 Marauder vehicles drive out from the fortress across the drawbridge. Daxter yells at Jak to go chase them. Jump in the Dune Hopper and race out the fortress. The gaps in the wooden dock access road are now filled-in with new bridges. Race out to the sand and chase the first marauder vehicle. He's heading into the mountain tunnel. Get him before time runs out. When you get close, fire a grenade from the Hopper. When you nail him, the timer will reset. Chase down the next vehicle.

Try to collect turbo boosts on the way by exploding other Marauder vehicles that try to ambush you. Even better, use up 30 Precursor Orbs and buy the unlimited turbo [secret]. The 3rd Marauder, you'll chase around the mountain, and the 4th and last Marauder you should be able to nail on the wooden access bridge on the far side of the lake by the fortress. Time will be tight! Once done, return to the garage.
